Gran Turismo 5 Delayed to "This Holiday Season"


SCEA tells Kotaku that the delay is indeed global adding that they can't elaborate on whether "holiday season" could mean early 2011.

It'll be out december, the fact they have already started on GT6 I think it's ready to come out, I reckon it is because of black ops tbh :P

Black ops wouldn't be a problem at all since that was due for release around a week later, so GT5 would get the opportunistic sales. IMO I think they're waiting to tap into the christmas market at full price rather than have the game's hype die down before the xmas rush. Just a cash thing.

No I doubt it. Not exactly hard for a team who have made 4 racing games before to pretty much port the basic stuff over and make a good racing game when there last ones have been :P

From what I hear, the game is a broken mess, Sony is panicking and wants this thing out as fast as possible. The game was only content complete last month and now they're rushing it through bug-testing, will add on a patch later in 2011.

Very frustrating to say the least. I haven't pre-ordered it or anything but it's still a game that I have been looking forward to a lot. Guess we will all just have to be patient, nothing much else we can do?

The discs are in printing so its obviously out soon, this year as they had said.

The next planned date is the 17th of December I heard. The extra month must have given them time to fix a bug worthy enough of holding back the entire release.
