FIRST SINGLE “WE R WHO WE R” SHIPS TO RADIO ON THURSDAY
(NY – NEW YORK) Worldwide pop superstar Ke$ha announced the release of Cannibal (RCA Records / Kemosabe Entertainment), the highly anticipated companion to her platinum selling debut album Animal on November 22nd. Consisting of nearly an album’s worth of new songs, it will be made available for sale separately, as well as bundled with Animal in a special deluxe repackage called Animal + Cannibal. The first single “We R Who We R” ships to radio on Thursday.
Says Ke$ha “This year has been carnivorous and life-changing. I have my rowdy, gorgeous fans to thank for taking me on the ride of a lifetime. My only goal with this record is to keep them dancing. The songs on Cannibal were made to inspire people to ignore any hate or judgment and be themselves unapologetically. It’s the perfect companion to Animal and I hope you guys like it. In addition to executive producer Dr. Luke, Ke$ha collaborated with powerhouse producers including Max Martin (Britney Spears, Pink), Benny Blanco (Katy Perry, 3Oh!3), Bangladesh (Lil’ Wayne, Beyonce) and others.
2010 has been an incredible year for Ke$ha, less than 10 months after the #1 debut of Animal in January 2010, it has been certified platinum and sold over 2 million units worldwide. Ke$ha is nominated for three American Music Awards, Artist of The Year, Pop/Rock – Favorite Female Artist and T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
Earlier this month Ke$ha became the 11th solo female artist to collect at least four Billboard Hot 100 Top 10s from a debut album when her current single “Take It Off” catapulted up the chart. She has sold 14 million combined tracks and ringtones in the U.S alone to date and 15 million worldwide, including her smash breakthrough single “TiK ToK’ which has sold over 8.5 million combined units. ‘Cannibal‘ will contain 8 new tracks as well as a remix, and will be released as a standard edition and bundle containing both albums.
