Glasgow or Edinburgh, and why?

Edinburgh if you want a good night out, never been to Glasgow so I can't compare on nightlife. Edinburgh's just really nice, depends what youre going to either for. Glasgow is better for shopping tbh.

As I have never been to any I would say Glasgow, based on the fact what people have told me about it.
Glasgow seems a nice place when I once browsed on google street view.
I saw Ryan's photography of Edinburgh - yikes!
;)

I'd say Edinburgh, I've never been there but I have friends and some relatives who live there. There's quite nice sites and plenty to do in town and what not, so I'd recommend going there rather that Glasgow.

not even joking they are complete opposites from my experience. i've travelled around europe and edinburgh is the nicest city i've been to. glasgow is the worst. only place that scares me. albeit, i haven't been for a night out in either. from a culture vulture's point of view - edinburgh > glasgow.

Unless you're gonna wander into gorbals at 11pm then there shant be any trouble tbh. Glasgow is probably the most popular due to the nightlife and culture viewpoint... edinburgh for the history. I'd go to both. Glasgow has a bad reputation... considering it's crime isn't any where near dundee if i'm right in thinking?

Go to both, they're quite close to each other and I've heard that they're both really different :)
