I'm not a technical person so I hope somebody could please help me?

Is their a difference in the o/s with a virtual windows server and dedicated server? Say more features enables in one as opposed to the other?

Also, what's the difference between a windows server and a linux server in terms of having your website online? Performance updates? Web management control panels?

Not for the basic/novice user, you'll see little difference between a Windows VM and dedicated machine.

Windows vs Linux for hosting a website? For most websites, Linux. Windows is usually used for more specific tasks, for example, hosting ASP web content. cPanel is used for Linux, however there is Enkompass for Windows, though it's not late in development yet.

I would stick to using Unix systems to host websites.

I don't think there is any difference between the a VM and a dedicated box.

Depends on what your needs are, Windows can be as stable as Linux is if setup properly.
