Driving license taken

Hey

I was out tonight and ling story short a bouncer took my provisional because he didn't believe it was me and said "if you want it back ask the police, and you will be receiving a letter from the dvla who will probably revoke your license or give you points"

Is this true? Will anything happen? I cba with the aggro so I plan to just order a replacement and say it was lost

he probs thought it was fake ID and tried threatening you. if you attempted to ask him for your provisional license back later, he may have gave it to you. i dont think he will contact the police/dvla..

That made me laugh I didn't actually think some people were so dumb as to take a real ID from a person. He probably let about 20 people in with fake IDs the same night. I hope you get your license back soon :(

It doesn't make sense, why would the DVLA put points on your license? That would mean they are acknowledging that it was you who tried to use it as ID, doing that is perfectly legal.

the police may contact you - the only thing is you then have to prove it was you on the night who gave the bouncer the ID...

I don't think this is legal. Phone up the police and say it was stolen.

Police will probably contact you, he'll have handed it to them at the end of the night however it's not legal to take your real license.

was it actually urs? tbh phone the club and say you lost it in the club and when they set it got taken by door staff explain someone must have picked it up inside and tried to use it

Yeah this is fine and it's perfectly legal for him to do this but only as long as it is handed into the police station. The bouncers have every right to refuse entry aslong has he had a reason and in the situation the bouncer was assuming you were using a friends ID to get you into the pub. This happened to my friend, he was using another friends ID and got caught with it. The next day the person whom actually owned the Id went to the police station and picked it up. Not sure if it will be different for you though. Police in my town are ridiculasely laid back.

thats well bad he took your licence, DVLA shouldn't put points on your licence because you weren't driving into the pub 2bh lol go to the police and ask if it got handed in if not then go to the pub and demand it back

When mine got taken they gave it to police and the police then questioned me and later gave me it that week. Although it wasn't me who was using the ID :P
Never the less im now barred from that club.

strict. my mate lost mine on a night out. he got threatened with police action. all that happened really is they gave it to the club staff and i picked it up the monday after. my mate went with me lmao as in same mate that got it taken off him. fab.

Yeah normally they take fake id off people but i've never heard of real id being taken :o

Nah I rung up said my name said have you got my ID said yeah, I walked in told them I'm picking ID up and they just handed it over hehe.
