So, all the boyfriend wants for christmas is a Burberry trench, and i really cant decide which one too get.

He wants a Classic Trench, but i'm a big fan of the Navy!!

Do I do the right thing and get him what he wants, or do I do the right thing by me, (haha) and get the navy?
What one do you all like better?

Dont like either of them, 1st looks cheap and the 2nd one reminds me of an umbrella.

I think it looks far from cheap. Esp. with the $1,699 price tag attached to it.

SEE. THE NAVY IS JUST HEAPS BETTER?! Then I can just steal it and wear it whenever I want.. which is the real reason I want him to have it.. Haha.

I reckon if that wasnt burberry and it was george from asda, and it was like £40 you wouldnt buy it. You've been ****** up by the brand tbh.

They look like girl coats, but if I was to pick one of them i'd pick the navy one.

The navy is definitely nicer.
But if I knew someone was getting me something, or I told someone what I want and I specifically said the first colour, then it's probably better to get him the one he really wants :P

The navy one is definitely a lot nicer :)

However are you sure you really want to spend $1,699 on a jacket!? I mean I don't care who the brand is, has real diamonds sewn into the hem or the Queen made it herself, there is no way on earth a jacket is worth that amount of money!! So just be sure it's really worth spending that much on a jacket that will be used how often? It certainly didn't cost them that much to make it.

At your age (you and your boyfriend) I think it's hideous to be buying each over gifts like this. Teen relationships start and stop like nothing, it's because teenagers are changing all the time and will split up over the pettiest of things. That's why older relationships (20+) generally seem to last longer or a lot of the time last forever. Teens just don't need to be wearing 2,000 jackets anyway, what are you trying to prove?

I don't really believe this but if you are for real then I prefer the lighter coloured one.

Edit: Are you male or female? You said BF in the OP. :P

Most likely a ** thread to get attention. Why any teenager would spend over a grand on someone they will almost inevitably break up with it dumb.

I assume he is gay. Which makes his relationship even more unlikely to last

We actually hit 2 years in January. Im 18, soon to turn 19, he is 21. Our relationship isn't some petty 15yo love.

I really couldn't careless what you all say about my relationship, as in the end all I want is other peoples colour preferences.
I'm taking into consideration that you're all astounded by the cost and have actually been looking around for something else.

We don't have real cheap retailers over here in Australia. If you want something of high-quality, expect to pay big dollars.
I often get things shipped over from topman, so i've found an alternative..

thoughts?

People are being harsh just because someone is gay imo. I think you lot should leave this thread and the forum if you have something against gays because half of the forum are gay. Not really fair on them if you can't get along..

It's been proven that gay relationships are far less likely to last for more than a few years than a straight relationship.

Surely anyone in a mature relationship at this age knows that it's not likely to last forever, or at least ought to. Best of luck to you but when you have to justify your relationship by telling people about how old you are it doesn't exactly scream eternity

I can't honestly believe that you know anything about fashion if you make the money = quality claim and then ask about a Topman jacket. Of course the top branded stuff costs more, and as something of a tag ***** myself I know that the brand attached to an item can mean more (to the person wearing it) than how it may look on occasion, but to skip from classic Burberry designs to high street coats is not a mistake anyone in the know would make, especially when you make the change from a waist-tied trenchcoat to a somewhat basic double-breasted pea coat. With that in mind, if you truly have the money to be doing this I'd just go with the lighter Burberry coat, which with the right accompanying outfit on the right person could easily look far better than the navy.

I am not sure on a certain website - google will have stuff though.

I thought it was a known fact?

Edit: please you think it is made up. I have nothing against gay people - although I am not very fond of people who are very camp - but don't. Call. Me. A. Liar.

Cant you use google to find the answers rather than make the homos do all the work for you. You think you're above them omg? Anyway, I just used google and the closest thing I can see is stuff on Yahoo Answers, all of which are answered with people by common sense saying it depends on the relationship and its intentions. No scientific studies to prove that gay relationships don't last as long.

Stephen dont. call. him. a. liar. ;@!!!

You made the point so back it up with evidence - I don't even know what Google is! If this is a known fact then I must be some kind of feral idiot shielded from society because I've never heard of it before. Also everything Sammeth said

When you find the link, it would be nice if you can post it for us!
