Is it just me or does blackberry app world completely suck?
I know some content is only available in certain regions, but if other regions is anything like Australia, its just rubbish.

I know blackberry's main purpose isn't to produce a phone full of applications, but I just think that if they're gonna have an App World, atleast put something decent in there.

RIM are so behind with technology, there are plenty of examples if you take a look at there phone specs. Two reasons that people buy them are that its a 'Blackberry' and the email/bbm functions but thats bout it, so its no surprise that their apps suck too.

Yes, it is immensely crappy, if anyone had the choice between an android or ios device and a blackberry and chose the blackberry I would seriously be concerned.

I was in love with the idea of having a blackberry, but yeah. I'm over it now, 6 months later. Im dying to get my hands on something with an Android OS, a few friends have just gotten the Samsung GalaxyS, and it seems to be pretty amazing.

As for BBIM i dont see the purpose in it. Just send a text.

It's become something people obsess over, much like when many people buy an Apple product. Don't get me wrong here I own an ipad and iMac and I love both due to functionality reasons but a lot of the time people make an Apple purchase to follow a trend. It's quite similar to the blackberry only the difference is android and iOS make Blackberry OS look as bad as symbian (and that's hard, symbian is awful).

The idea behind bbm is cool, but again RIM is taking advantage of user ignorance because the program called ping chat which works on an iphone android and the blackberry does the EXACT SAME THING as bbm. I use it to send text messages to Shar, who resides in Europe when I am in Canada totally for free. And since it works on all platforms I can use my iPad or android phone to do it :P

I honestly am not tech savvy at all, and have no idea what symbian is, haha, but you make it sound pretty crap. Haha. The Blackberry was just on a perfect plan for me and yes of course the thought of having one for the name played a factor, but i really am over it. Its just not.. Idk.. Teenage friendly (besides bbim)..

It is frustrating tho that they're not even tempting to compete with applications.. I found one application that i thought, oh yeah, that'd be useful for work, which was what i thought was 'Australian air lines tracker', downloaded it.. and it turned out to be 'Austrian Airlines' haha.

Im really thinking its time for a new phone tho!

I can see why you're so upset with it, you likely thought you were getting a smartphone when you ended up with something that better resembles any other average phone out there. Android phones are getting seriously cheap here across the pond, so I think it's safe to say the same holds true over there. Save your Christmas money for one :)

Symbian is on many millions of different devices models, it's hardly crappy.

Blackberry is a business phone. Business's use them to get emails from their exchange server as well as using it as a phone.

Theyre a normal phone and a phone is for phoning, texting & emailing(?)

If buy a blackberry it isnt bought to play games and stuff :s, its a phone...

I've got the curve and I love it! :)
