Well, you need a version of SAM broadcaster. You can purchase it from the spacialaudio site! You need an amount of music that you can have variety in your shows and not just the same thing over and over again. and last but not least, you need a microphone to be able to talk on air to the listeners. Thats really all I think. Good luck if you're applying :)

You should get a decent microphone, headset or a stand up one, it doesn't matter really, a good computer that isn't slow and works well, and as always your handy dandy SAM Broadcaster! :)

Musicwise you're looking at varying amounts. Your music library should get bigger as time goes by, at the moment I have about 700-800 songs. Variety is key! Make sure they're clean and they don't have voiceovers, and you should do fine!

You'll need these things:

An extensive library of a wide variety of music: This ensures that you are able to have fresh, new shows every time you come on air. It also allows you to cater to the desires of your listeners much better. The songs you have in your library should be clean and safe for radio - no swearing, offensive lyrics and no voice-overs. If you absolutely MUST play a song with questionable content, use an audio editor to edit out the undesired content.

A licensed, working copy of Sam Broadcaster: You can always be cheap and get Winamp and ShoutCast, however this is not preferred at all. Winamp/ShoutCast is more or less obsolete technology; everything you can do with it can be done better with Sam Broadcaster, and then some.

A quality microphone: It's true, you really do get what you pay for. If you get a cheap microphone, the quality of your speech is going to be severely hindered. You can get above average-quality microphones/headsets for no more than 30-40 bucks.

A strong sense of interest and a degree of professionalism: If you come on air unenthusiastic and monotonous, your listeners aren't going to stay tuned in. Liven up your show with a short, funny story of what happened to you or someone you know (keep it radio appropriate) to liven up the crowd. At the same time, don't go overboard. Know when to draw the line and carry yourself in a professional manner when handling requests/shout-outs and when providing a little background about a song you're going to play.

If you possess the aforementioned, you shouldn't have any problems landing a position as a radio DJ here.

Sam 4 is the latest version of Sam Broadcaster. I'm not sure of any possible way of getting Sam 2, nor do I remember the differences between them. I've heard rumors about Sam 4 having issues with the radio server here on Habbox, but I've been DJing here for nearly a month using Sam 4 and I've yet to run into any problems.

Sam 4 does carry a pretty hefty price tag, but I assure you that the price is well worth it. There's just so much you can do with Sam 4 if you know how to use it.

I don't see any problems with your equipment. Bear in mind though, that DJing is essentially streaming audio data from your computer over the internet through the radio server. Your internet connection is going to need to be of sufficient quality in addition to the performance of your computer. A good processor and sound card is just as important as your internet connection. A good sound card will ensure quality audio being played on your end and allows for clear communication when spoken on air to be transmitted over the server and sent to the listeners.

Try opening up Sound Recorder on your computer, record a small clip of you talking, then play it back and listen to the quality. This will allow you to judge the quality of your headset/sound card and will assist you in making decisions on whether or not you feel you have competent hardware to provide a quality broadcast.
