A brand new website I have just finished developing.

http://www.eearth.co.uk/buy/regular.png
Inspired by TheMillionDollarHomepage.

What is it?
You have the ability to buy a space on the global map on the homepage. There are three sizes, small (3px), regular (5px) and large (10px) of varying prices. The above picture is a demonstration of a purchased regular space.

What is a space?
A region on the map that an individual owns. You have the choice of a title and URL for your space as shown above.

The idea
If the website (hopefully) picks up and people begin purchasing spaces there will be a neat-looking map filled with little dots.

At this moment in time, a 3px space is only $1. Currently only accepting PayPal.

Thoughts?

Absolutely welcome to ideas and criticisms.

Glorious, magnificent hats off to you for creating this. Good luck, maybe allow a logo or graphic that can appear in a lightbox in the near future too, looking forward to seeing how things go. http://themeforest.net/images/smileys/delicious.png

Update: Next 5 posts can have a free space.

Make it a half decent post, feedback, criticisms, what you like about it etc. :)

great site! maybe reduce the size of the space because when you zoom in its massive. But also maybe make it so its easier to move around the map when zoomed in?

Personally - I wouldn't go on a website to look at advertisements, I just can't see your target audience.

The design is nice, though. :)

Best of luck.

Yeah I see what you're saying, I quite like at the moment though how it shows the whole continent when you click one.

Would you like a space? If so, tell me the co-ordinates, advert title and URL. :)

Well you could say the same about http://milliondollarhomepage.com/, which inspired me to make the website. Similar concept. It's just a gimmick so people might visit for that reason.

Same to you though, if you want a space tell me co-ordinates, advert title and advert URL. :)

Quite nice! Perhaps add a category system so like different categories, such as search engines, forums and such. And on the FAQs, perhaps change the link colour as it looks quite ugly! :P

Best of luck with it! :)

That's a good idea, but it wouldn't be worthwhile until there are more adverts on there. So I'll categorise them on a later date perhaps.

And cheers I didn't notice that, they were all purple on my screen cos I'd tested them all :p fixed that right up now.

Would you like a free advert? If so tell me the co-ordinates, advert title and URL. :)

Good luck with it, although so many websites "inspired by milliondollarhomepage" have failed terribly.

You're absolutely right. Although, the only ones I have seen fail were onces that used the exact same idea as the original MillionDollarHomepage?

Co-ordinates: Not sure? Somewhere in the United Kingdom if possible
Advert Title: StanceFM
URL: http://stancefm.com

Thanks!

Was hoping the uniqueness is what might make it popular.

You want a free ad? If so let me know co-ordinates, advert title and URL :)

Hey,
I assume it would be awkward but it would be worth it. You should have a selection for a different audience for example have a drop down menu, hosting, online radios etcetc.

This seems quite good to me! I've seen the milliondollarhomepage and it's great and I can see your website having a chance of going far as well. Good luck with it :)

i went on the purchase page and noticed the wholesale thing on the left, and the price increases per 3px space. You listed it as $25 per 3px if you get 120 :P I dont know if thats an error or something...

Looks fantastic, best of luck with it. Interesting site and considering there are many websites based around this area, you got the idea and made it into something unique which is amazing. Would be fantastic if you could make it 3D.

Its good, but at the moment I dont think alot of people would purchase as your not getting many hits. Maybe put it so its free for a couple of months and people only get their advert there for say, two weeks? Then as soon as the hits roll in, advertise around and maybe the people who had it free, realised you helped them get hits, therefore they pay for more space/longer period? Good luck, excellent idea!

Sounds a lot like the million dollar homepage concept to me but I guess it as abit of a different flavour to it with the coordinates. Good luck :)

Cool, that might be good to advertise my hosting company with if it becomes successful.
