The largest lottery prize in UK history has been claimed and paid out, nearly two weeks after the draw was made, Camelot has announced.

The £113m Euromillions rollover jackpot had gone unclaimed since 8 October.

Camelot said a winning ticket had been produced and verified, but did not reveal any further details.

"The ticket-holder is currently deciding whether or not to go public and share their news," a spokeswoman said.

The prize is also the biggest in Euromillions history, beating the record of a Spanish player who netted £111m in May 2009.
Rich List

On Tuesday, Camelot revealed it had received more than 1,000 lost ticket claims relating to the £113m jackpot.

Using figures in the Sunday Times Rich List 2010, the ticket-holder, if it is an individual and not a syndicate, will become the UK's 589th wealthiest person.

The winner beat odds of more than 76 million to one to pick the winning numbers which were 9, 30, 35, 39, 46, with lucky stars six and eight.

Their wealth will eclipse that of the likes of pop stars Barry and Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees, who are said to be worth £110m, Phil Collins, who has a fortune of £108m, Rod Stewart, who has £105m, and David Bowie, who has an estimated £100m to his name.

About 2,400 lottery millionaires have been created in the UK since the National Lottery launched in 1994.

The previous largest lottery winner in the UK was an anonymous player who scooped £84.4m, also on Euromillions, in May.

Nigel Page and Justine Laycock, from Barnsley, Gloucestershire, previously broke the record in February after winning £56m on Euromillions.

Tickets for Euromillions are sold in nine countries - the UK, France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Irish Republic, Portugal and Switzerland - with ticket-holders in all those countries trying to win a share of the same jackpot each week.

Camelot is the operator for the competition in the UK.

I saw this last night, or a story very similar about a pensioner who thought she may of had the ticket. You never know, it might be her and they somehow fond the ticket which the husband lost :P

Apparently they've decided to remain anonymous.

I'd remain anonymous. Would you?

Depends really. If I had won I'd probably announce it alongside my friends and enjoy the experience with other people. As an individual I'd probably keep it quiet. Depends what you'd do when in that sort of situation.

I'd tell my family and friends and people would eventually know as I'd make a difference with it, especially in my local area anyway (Devon - not uni). I wouldn't go through the press though.

I'd stay anonymous so that charities don't try taking away my hard-earned ca... oh wait. But yeah still don't want them pestering me when I could be busy shopping

What would you do with that money tho ;o!

I'd buy a nice big house outright, a nice car, give some to charity, buy me some nice clothes, get a fit gf, buy her a diamond ring, buy a PS3 and loads of games, then put the rest in a savings account.

If you go public you get all begging letters + you and your family will then become targets for ransoms/robbery. I hope whoever wins enjoys it, i'd stay in the same house though and donate to my favourite causes - simply just live off the interest I guess.

Apartments/houses in New York, Paris, Texas - amazing. *dreams*

500k to everyone in my family except the ***** like my auntie and uncle :) infact no money for anyone.

the worst part about the lottery is though, to some people, this is like their pocket change :P
anyway wd to whoever won tbh, shame they stayed anonymous but i can understand why.

they could just live off the interest if i they didn't buy a house. £8500 a day interest isn't it?

They could buy a new house purely on the interest earned, if you consider the amount of time it takes to buy and sell a house (not that they'd need to sell, they could give it away if its a decent house). It's pretty fascinating thinking about what they could buy without really digging into the amount of money they've won. A Porsche Boxster (I think?) could be on their drive in 10 days and that could be bought on interest (£85,000 (interest) x 10 (days)). Hopefully they'll be sensible, but then again it's their money :P

I would definitely remain anonymous if I won. But anyway, congratulations to him/her!

Surely Bowie has more than £100 million.

Yeah I read that too. and that she forgave her husband for losing the ticket. Maybe it was her, she's from Coventry if so.. and I go there everyday.. hunt her down >:)

I would build a full size scale replica of Matt Smiths TARDIS.
