I think some of the rules are fair enough like making application interfaces a standard, a central licensing setup and updates. But they're decapitating Java?

This whole store is actually quite amusing.

I can see why Apple fanboys are so excited for the app store on the Mac though. I mean, it's a revolution, it's not like it has been on Linux for over five years..

And best of all.. You can play Angry Birds instead of Call of Duty!!

I know little about Java, but judging by the amount of things using it, isn't it, you know, quite important? Just seems like the usual twiddle of Apple being too controlling. Luckily it looks like Mac users can download real apps the usual way without having to go through the store.

Also, what on earth do they mean by "any apps that look like apps bundled with Macs will be rejected"? Surely that's every App, seeing as they all look and work similar. It's like Microsoft blocking OpenOffice/Oracle from an App store, and Winamp, and VLC player, and iTunes, and SongBird and so forth :/

It's quite funny how most of them rules actually contradict (that the right word? hmm) current software made by Apple. Although thankfully for Mac users you are still able to download all of them lovely programs/applications elsewhere by using the good old method, the internet.
