I'm around 5 hours in, done a lot of quests and sided with the NCR so far. I'm at Novac and being stalked by

Victor.

I started playing it and I'm not into it. Luckily I only Gamefly-ed it so I'm not at a financial loss. I was never a huge FO3 fan but I wanted to give NV a try, unfortunately I don't like it. Mass Effect is my favorite RPG shooter. :(

Installing to HDD makes it even slower.

Patch coming out soon, I can bear the loading times only for so long, worse than Fallout 3.

The game is better than Fallout 3 tho in every other aspect.

no idea how far I am into it but,

Been in Novac, activated the Helios One power plant and was on my way to see the Khans about the people that shoot you. I haven't finished the quest at the REPCONN Test Site since the Nightkin kept on killing me.
I'm loving it so far, it's not my usual sort of game but I loved Fallout 3 and this is a definite improvement over Fallout 3. Seriously hope that this loading issue gets sorted though.

I've killed House, fully decided on taking Vegas all for myself. The game is so lenient in how it deals with the factions. I'm going around a few groups now and intend to get them all on my side. I've iced Benny and taken his suit.

I thought the advertisement for New Vegas (which showed gameplay) looked amazingly poor so I'm missing this title. I'm not one for fantasy like games anyway, I'm more of a realist.

Absolutley love the multiple endings (i wont ruin it for you)

It's a damn near perfect game apart from the bugs and the dated engine (But you can look over this as this game is one of only a few that you can completley be emerged in)

Overall i would give it a 9/10

Can't say I wasn't extremely P'ed off so I've had to start again, although I'm liking it even more now, doing things diffrently and noticing more things, rushing it slightly through, what took me nearly 15 hours the first time has only taken me 5 hours this time, still got along way to go to catch up to where i was :'(

You can just restore your saves from the .bak files.....

best glitch ever at the ultra whatsit place in new vegas. I went to talk to one of the white gloves or whatever they're called and it said "White glove is unconscious" and 2 seconds later the woman just ****zed out and collapsed on the floor and then got up again

Common bug with the Brotherhood of Steel alliance quest has happened to me, can't recruit them into my empire. Somehow the NCR suddenly hate me too, that's nice.

By the way, I'm doing the Wild Card missions.

House will be a total dictator.
NCR are poor at total government, good at minimal control.
Legion will just destroy modern civilisation.
So I trust myself more than all the other factions to bring order and peace to Vegas, make it a beacon for mankind and a big resort for all the scientific and artistic minds to all come and enjoy themselves while progressing the whole "back to civilisation" thing.

I love the array of choice in the game.

Mr.Yes is the way forward! I started with the NCR and it glitched when trying to recruit the brother hood of steel as I had changed their leaders so I couldn't progress further with the game so I had to load a save a couple of hours back and change to Mr.Yes unstead.

I'd advise against getting a fable game, the last one disgusted me at how cocky it was.

I've clocked fallout nv once but i have to say i didn't expect it to come LMAO i'll probably wait to play it a 3rd time when the dlc comes out stopping the game from that horrible back to earlier save ending, but atm im boosting out the 2nd save to be a pro sniper, was well gutted the chinese stealth armour didn't turn me invisible though

and is that hidden bunker the BoS? i was never going to turn against the BoS lmao, they're like family to fallout i even lost ncr fame to stick with them

I do think fnv is a bit rushed and empty of things like a friendly radio, and its a bit harsher on the maxing out skills bit (lack of books) and its took the fun out of it by removing bobble heads, i loved my hunt for them :(

it ends but you can return to a earlier save, on the end quests i believe there is always a "Checkpoint" that hardsaves it, not sure though, and at that point you can just turn around and walk off lmao, but when the first dlc comes out it should continue on the main quest, if not i'll be devastated

He told me yesterday but I decided to go raid the silver rush shop for some easy money and energy weapons. I died like 5 times cos I had like 6 people shooting me with energy guns so just got a flamer out and toasted the *******s. Also why are the suits that the guys from silver rush wear have like 2k value?

In the silver rush, you don't get a karma loss from stealing things. Use R3 or press the right stick to move all of the goodies into the bathroom. Go into sneak mode and make sure no-one can see you and you can just take everything. There's a pot upstairs too, to put all of the ammo in

stealing is wrong. The people who work there are thugs anyway so imo it's best to just put them out of their misery, steal their weapons and armour and then sell them, keeping atleast one of each weapon you take.

on my first save i learnt about silver rush the hard way, took them out at like lvl 14 LOL i had to go through like 5 saves until i finally survived and killed them all, didn't realise it was a plasma shop

And @stephen i think it depends which path you take, thats like a house vs legion out come, (inside bunker spoiler)i went into the bunker and just saw the ammount of robots that i'd have to fight with and utterly bottled it

I think I have went a completely different route than everyone else:

I killed House and I killed Benny and installed Yes Man into the Lucky 38 and he has now upgraded the Securitrons to V2. Now I am running around deciding on which families I like and which I don't. I'm currently away to help the Boomers as to be able to complete that side for the NCR. However if I keep going with Yes Man, the NCR and Legion will hate me.

There are ways to get it without upsetting the ncr. I think planting c4 on them when they sleep works

LMFAO technologic, i'm so thank full for auto saves, uno when that "freeside thug" just pops round a corner to shank you well i saw the red marker than just went to iron sight aim and ended up shooting a king who was attacking him, which got the kings onto me & the body guards :(

These suits of armor only spawn on New California Rangers (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/New_California_Rangers), who usually spawn in NCR territory beginning at level 14.
This armor can be found at Ranger Station Delta (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ranger_Station_Delta). You would have to kill the Ranger wearing it. The easiest way to accomplish this without killing everyone in the area is to acquire Boone (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Boone) as a follower and attack the Ranger and quickly holster your weapon. If all goes well Boone will attack the Ranger causing him to flee. Once the Ranger has run far from the station you and Boone can kill him together and acquire his Armor and weapon. Usually the Ranger carries a very rare and powerful weapon such as the Ranger Sequoia (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Ranger_Sequoia) and the brush gun (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Brush_gun). Alternatively, if the player is capable of instantly killing the NCR Veteran Ranger (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/NCR_Veteran_Ranger) with a single shot (Most likely while in sneak) the player can fast travel to a non-NCR occupied zone as soon as the ranger dies, and then wait 24 hours. No reputation is lost, and the player is free to return to the corpse to loot.
Also can be found in Camp Golf (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Camp_Golf). If you have a powerful weapon with a suppressor mod, you can wait until the troops go to sleep. Simply wait until one is alone and then kill him. The unique BB gun Abilene Kid LE BB Gun (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Abilene_Kid_LE_BB_Gun) is an excellent choice for this, or a silenced sniper rifle (in moderate to good cond). You can net 1-4 sets of armor easily (2 others are available, but those rangers tend to hang around other npc's and leave little opportunity for stealth kills).
Very easily obtained inside the Camp Golf (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Camp_Golf) mansion with the Mr. Sandman Perk. Choose to wait until around midnight while inside the mansion and then follow the NCR Rangers upstairs. After the NCR Rangers have laid down crouch to enter sneak mode and with your status as hidden choose to murder a Ranger. You won't receive a faction loss and you can obtain up to 4 pieces of armor and various weapons. Alternatively you could reverse pickpocket C4 into their inventory easily here but make sure you leave any companions on the first floor of the mansion.
The best way of getting this armor without getting attacked, or losing faction points is to do the following. Do reverse pickpocketing and plant C4 on the ranger, and detonate, you lose no rep points and any other NCR people will not attack you or anything. A word of caution though, the Rangers tend to get launched extremely high in the air, and you may have trouble finding their corpse, so if best explode them in doors or near a wall to stop them flying to far.
Another place to find it is at Camp Forlorn Hope (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Camp_Forlorn_Hope).
It is possible to get the armor through reverse pickpocketing. For this use, see planting items (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Planting_items).
Faction armor can be worn to prevent getting bad reputation when killing a ranger.
If you become hated by the NCR (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/NCR), Ranger hit squads come after you and one of them may wear the armor.
If you are friendly with NCR and wish to be so, the best way to get a suit of this armor is to get Legion armor/wear it and use a high powered/silenced weapon to sneak attack critical headshot a ranger wearing the desired armor at Ranger Station Delta at night.
If you can spare an stealth boy and some C4 you can place a live C4 in the rangers inventory and blow it up from a safe distance without losing fame or getting shot, just leave your companion behind and don't blow up some quest related NPC.
An easy way to obtain the armor is to go to Ranger Station Alpha once you're level 17. There will be a Veteran Ranger (who also has a Ranger Sequoia) in front of the tents. Go to the hills behind the tents and use a sniper rifle while hidden to kill the Veteran Ranger. I did it in two shots with no loss to my NCR Reputation.
For those looking for a way to obtain the armor without having to kill a ranger personally, continue with the main quest until you reach the mission where you have to protect the president. Disarm the bomb on the vertibird, then go speak to Ranger Grant. He'll cancel the president's speech. Now quickly get behind the stage where the speech is being made. A moment later, a sniper will take out an NCR Veteran, while the rest flee with the president. Grab the armor before the body disappears. One completely guilt free way of obtaining the armor.
During the quest Restoring Hope (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Restoring_Hope) when you have to go and meet sergeant cooper he will be accompanied by multiple New California Rangers (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/New_California_Rangers). Go into the hills surrounding them and simply shoot one in the head while hidden. This will net you the armour and no loss to your NCR reputation.
With a suppressed sniper rifle you can kill a Ranger at Camp Golf (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Camp_Golf) with or with out armor piercing rounds. To not get caught or lose Karma, duck in the upper right corner of the second ramp leading up to the Resort. There should be 3 Rangers sitting in chairs or standing up(they move in a pattern, so if they move they will go back there). Make sure you're hidden before you shot(don't have a companion with you). Then aim for the head or chest. Note: it doesn't matter what time of day you do this as long as there are rangers there

It's inside HELIOS One, if you go up the metal stairs and all the way around to the little back; you'll find a chap named Fantastic and in that room nearby is a door to the courtyard.

I kinda found them before I found Novac but I couldn't find anyone, only like the bunkers.

They're the enclave but they aren't a huge piece, you need to get to the part of the main questline were you need to recruit or kill the omertas & talk to daisy whitman (novac), cannibal johnson or arcade gannon (Mormom fort)

and they should ask to recruit you
