View Full Version : Fable 3
Fable 3 came out in Europe today I think, I've had it since Tuesday and I love the game. Any thoughts on it? Try to keep spoilers in SPOILER TAGS as many people won't have finished it yet.)
Tbh, I HATE THE SOCIAL SYSTEM.

Yeah my friend got it on Monday/Tuesday from, and she completed it last night. Apparently the ending is kinda iffy
I didn't really like the ending, it was too quick.
Just note, Never try getting a wife before checking their info, i spent 15 mins doing actions and fetch quests for a woman to become best friends then to find out shes a lesbian

Fable 2 was horrific,
Had to stick to set paths, quests were poo, main story was quite bland and there was **** all to do when it finished, as well with everything in the shops never updates its always the best :l

The ending choice of Fable 2 was amazing, what are you talking about?

What, money, life or w.e else it was
it was crap, because there was sweet fa to do after that

No...
Money, your own family and dog or saving the people who died making the spire.
Very splitting moral choice, one of the finest in years. I admit the main game was very shallow, repetitive and whatevs; but the final choice made it all the more worthy.
Nothing like that is in Fable 3, sadly.

When i finished the game, my first thought was "What a waste of time" and that really isn't what i like from a game LOL
althought all games are a waste of time really, but that one just struck it hard of why the **** do i get this

Good.
Let it seep in.
Games are gonna evolve to have both components of the experience. Morality and all that nice entertaining goodie goodness. Fable 2 was a small step in that, and for that it should be commended. Other than that, the series really isn't much to be celebrated.

I agree having moral choices is good
But we have fallout to set the example for that, well, kind of, just you don't grow horns and im not sure if it even effects your character in fnv

Fallout 3 had good/evil, pretty shallow really.
Good steps though which was done in New Vegas. All grey moral choices and all that stuff, find out who you really trust.
Fable 3 has heaps of decisions which changed the game. That's why many do playthroughs multiple time so they can experience the bad side, the good side and then again being neutral.
i thought the game in general was horrific. went too fast and boring :( disappointed. Wasted £36 :'(

i don't really know what to think of it, in some places i think it was really good but over all it was far too rushed and really wasn't as long as it should have been.

To be honest, it was only worth doing a neutral playthrough on Fable 1, the choices in Fable 2 and Fable 3 only really lead to a good or bad ending while trying to play neutral on Fable 1 was like an extra difficulty because you had none of the perks that being good or evil offered.
Honestly I think Fable 3 is my favourite game this year but I am also a massive fan of the series, I got the collectors edition and I am happy with my purchase, although it didn't include much it was still worth it to me, I really liked the choices in this game as well, a lot more than Fable 2, although Fable 2s choices made you think a little, Fable 3 had something slightly more powerful.
Like if you wanted the good ending, you would be loved, but you would also be very poor, and your kingdom would ultimately fall into ruin because you could not fund the protection to save your followers, while being evil did lead to everyone hating you, you was then able to save everyone, I honestly believe that is a pretty strong thing to give to player control over, the survival of the people at the risk of being hated, or to be loved, but eventually end with no one to love you.

My first playthrough, I did mostly all the good things. But because 5million people died, everyone hated me so I lost both ways. Just became Queen (did a chick character now) so I'm going to be a bit evil this time. I withdrew all the money and I'm investing in all the properties so I hope.. I just hope I can get it right this time. To be honest, the whole Fable 3 decision making system is incredible as it changes gameplay very heavily.

The game is very fun, but at the same time very poor, and over priced, on average what is it? 10 hours of gameplay for one play-through? and it doesn't have much replay value at all other than for achievements. It's basicly taken out the strong points of fable 2 and nerfed them, then it rushes the story at points which you should have more time, and stretches out the game in places where nothing is happening, its a step back from Fable 2. Fable 2 was short but amazing, Fable 3 is short and a let down, at the end of the day its very fun but shouldnt be a sold as a full game. I think this is going to be the first new game I sell, only 3 days after i bought it.
I enjoyed it, and prefer it to Fable 2. I thought the storyline was much better, even if it was fairly short. I stuck to the good morality all the way through, completed the game and saved everyone. It did take time to save the money, but when it starts rolling in, it really starts rolling in.
7.5m gold in the treasury at the end, and now I'm on 12m gold in the space of a day.
All that is left now are the collectable quests and a couple others. Should be fairly easy.

Did you take money from the treasury and buy propertys? How did you raise so much?
I have about the same. I started out playing the Lute :L Earned myself about 40,000. Bought some houses, repaired them, and raised the rent to highest. Then money comes in from that, then you just keep expanding each time money comes in whilst you play the game.
I got up to 7m in the treasury and i have 10m at the moment :D

When I became King, I had like 15,000 gold. I didn't take anything out of the treasury because it would make the villagers dislike me. So I did a few jobs, got bored, bought some cheap shops/houses and did mini quests whilst money came in. I currently need 10 more guild seals to have all the Road to Rule chests (without having completed any of the collectable quests - books, gnomes, flowers).
I took advantage of the pawnbroker deals too, got lucky with clothing and weapons being bought @ 75-100% extra. As soon as I had 200k I bought a house in Millfields and put the rent to "high".
And now, I get 120k/5min. I don't want to buy any more because it's a pain in the arse to repair every single house.
Read up on the ending.
What an incredibly ballsy thing to do, commendations to Lionhead for doing such a brave thing. The game as a whole isn't well executed, Fable II is a superior experience, but the ending is ballsy enough to perhaps be... worthy of something.
Hiro, that's pretty good. I removed a lot of the money from treasury at start and invested in just about everything I could. I go through the cities (using the map) and buying them all and putting to high rent after repairing... I'll end up putting it all back in. Hope I get enough in the end.

I should also mention that I went to the Demon Door in Sunset House, it requires you to be King or Queen of Albion and you get 1,000,000 gold. That helped when buying expensive stores. :P
Finally 1k'd it last night :3

Ahh. Totally forgot about Demon doors giving money and stuff.
Every achievement? Nice! what's next?

Time to wait for DLC/finish off a few side quests. The Prophetic Hermit, Framed for Murder and The Debt are the only side quests I have left, I'm assuming I'll get a follow-on from The Prophetic Hermit though. I'm on 240 guild seals too.
Don't really have need for cash, got about 20mil gold. >_<
