1. Fancy someone you've met once and have only seen for a few hours and barely talked to.

2. Fancy your second cousin (parents' cousin's child).

Yeah...its not hypothetical, I met her today, she's 16, and omg as soon as I saw her I was like ;o (L).

Tbh it's prob just a teen fantasy. She lives in Ireland (I think) and I won't see her again for ages. I'm just curious to see If I'm the only int who fancies a relative :/ lol

1. you probably just like her for her looks then if you barely talked to her since you wont know anything about her/what shes like
2. a little weird yes but people do it so whatever

Conservative,

Lol actually to be fair I did talk to her quite a lot but obviously 2 hours Isnt enough to get to know a person. And yes u know it's kinda weird just wondering if anyone else "likes" a distant relative

Yes, you can get a bonor over their looks but no. I never fancied a cousin or whatever so cant comment on it really.

1. This is a little too quick for my liking! - I like to get to know girls first!
2. I think one of my cousins is fit, but I defo don't fancy them!!! This is wierd to me, and a little inbred..

1) it's just cos her looks, you don't actually fancy her, you'd just like to get into her pants cus she's probs hot or you have no standards which would probs explain why you'd go for a second cousin who you have only met once and for a couple of hours who is probs not even that hot in most peoples books but you are like yr 8 i think so its still weird.

2) its awful, don't, you're still related, don't even think of dreaming

1. It kinda sounds like a basic sexual attraction, based on appearance. This form of crush is the most common and passes relatively quickly. Its basically our brains finding the characterisics of the individual highly arousing, also when considering your relation to them, we tend to be attracted to people who share certain traits and characteristics with us. This also happens quite a lot during puberty when our hormones are raging insanely.

2. This issue is relatively based on how people define inbred activity and their own personal opinions of relationships above familial in families. The simple thing is that it is legal, but the one thing to consider is that a lot of people may not like the sound of it, such as your family and even your cousin. Its a very taboo issue, although it does occur. If it's just a simple crush, then its fine, you cant stop feeling attracted to someone just because you think its not right. But the thing is if you want to presue it, you have to be ready for whatever consequences may await you. And considering its a very taboo issue, I can't imagine there have been many reports of the reactions people or family members may have to this happening, but I can imagine that the reaction will most likely be negative.

imo if you're gonna fancy a cousin or any relative no matter how legal it is, it's best to keep it to yourself because even when it's legal, most people won't accept it because that's how people are

No because i guess you just know but get to know her too

and er well if you don't tell anyone HAHAHA it's not blood relation by the point really anyway... does she think it's weird is what i'd be asking!

Conservative,

Eh, I can get over it...I just idk...I think she's fit and that ;P

But I kinda gathered immediately, that it's like 0 to 1 chance of happening and I get that lol, plus I've seen plenty of fit girls in my time. Idk, I just really like her, maybe because I can relate to her because she's related?

But yeah...I was never really thinking of asking her out, I just wandered if anyone finds a relative of theirs attractive.

and @Lucy...Idk I didn't say i liked her :}

I knew someone who had a crush on his neice (Sisters daughter) for the longest time and he did end up persuing it but ended up into prison. Dating a cousin can't be as weird as that! But its weird, don't go for it in my opinion.

The first time you feel something so strong, it's beautiful isn't it pal!

You gotta remember though brother that as a teenager these infatuations happen instantly. To be fair, even adults have the same feelings, but they have learnt not to jump to a conclusion right away.

I believe in love at first sight, so with that in mind, YES I think you can like her when you have only known her for a few hours. In regard to your 2nd question, and as someone else said, it is legal, but it is thought of as a little strange.

But I don't judge anyone and considering she is a 2nd cousin, it isn't quite as difficult as an immediate family member or 1st cousin. Follow your heart my friend, but be wary, because you will feel this way about someone else before long!

Why's everyone going so mental about a 2nd cousin? It's only around 3% of shared DNA, you have to go back 3 generations to find a link, and they'd never met before anyway in this case. Most people don't even know if they have 2nd cousins or not, I know there are 2 on my dad's side but other than that who knows who I might be related to or how big an extended family might be?

It's not like he's asking if it's ok to bed his sister

No.The amount of genes you have in common are so small. Its not as if you fancy an auntie or actual cousin or anything.I have a second cousin who I don't fancy but If I did it would be fine because its legal and we ain't harming anyone. And it could just be that you two are destined to be best mates.

You love who you love. You cant just stop loving someone. Plus, I've seen people dating their brothers and sisters.

Can't help it if my cousin is attractive to me.

Of course I'd never dream of doing anything with her but I think she's extremely beautiful and for me i don't use get attracted to people until knowin them for weeks/months and talking constantly so it's weird that I think she's attractive and that without getting to know we.

Needless to say I'd never dream of going anywhere with this. It's just a teenage crush and tbh in a month I'll have prob forgotten her and moved on lol.

The thing is, those in our family have our blood, our DNA and they share some of our genes. It is natural to be attracted to someone that is similar to you. Don't think twice about it, you are not strange at all, it's normal, some people just don't like to talk about it.

1. Not worth it
2. I used to fancy my uncles girlfriends daughter (not his, only hers)... so I think it's right as you're not related by blood right?
