Not really, it's smaller than an iPod Touch in terms of height, slightly wider, but not much, and obviously not as thin

This. It's great for social networking :)

The wildfire is a good little brother to the N1/Desire. I think it's one of the only QVGA Androids left on the market.

htc desire is 3.7 inch, htc wildfire is 3.2 inch and the desire HD is 4.3 inch.
galaxy S is 4.0 inch and the samsung europa is 3.2 inch.
all the above operate on android 2.1 (exceptions is desire hd which operates on 2.2 froyo).
if you're not wanting something too big i suggest the htc wildfire.

Apart from the fact HTC released the 2.2 upgrade for the HTC Desire, the same probably goes for the other phones too.
