I wasn't too sure if this should have gone in the wow thread or here so i do apologise if i got it wrong.
Blizzard announced a while back that they intend to make a wow movie.
Nobody seems to be sure what exactly the movie will be about yet but there are many rumours. The director actualy abandoned the new spider man film partialy due to concentrating on working on this.
In my opinion a wow movie won't do well in the cinema however i do think it will sell well in DVDs.
Any thoughts?
I heard it could be similar to Lord of the rings in the style e.g. dwarf n stuff
I'll watch it because I don't want to play the game, but I want to know the story line. Don't think it'll be very popular with "WORLD OF WARCRAFT" in the movie title though.

Tbh you only say it would be bad just because it's World of Warcraft but with a good story it could actually be a good film

Yeah it seems to be leaning in that direction. I'm looking forward to seeing the CGI in it.

This has been going around for years like the Halo film and may not even happen. Probably won't even. There's obviously not enough interest else it would have been snapped up. And while there's always the possibility that it could be decent, the reality is it will most likely suck.

Actualy it's been confirmed that work on the movie has begun, these things take years to create.

No work on the film has been done. Sam Raimi eyed the project up and put it aside to focus on something else. If Raimi is to direct, it won't be for another 2 or 3 years, in which time he may just drop it altogether.
Sam Raimi had a few decisions to make this year, thanks to a Spider-Man movie franchise reboot that raised questions about whether or not his "WarCraft" movie would become his new priority. It looks like Disney's "Oz: The Great and Powerful" won out in the end, however, meaning "WarCraft" won't be getting his full attention in the new year.
Raimi committed to doing "Oz" next and starting production sometime in 2011, according to a Deadline report. Oddly enough, Raimi hooked up with the new movie after Guillermo del Toro declined to direct it. Meanwhile, del Toro has been looking for new video game projects to work on rather than leaving old ones behind.
Hopefully Raimi hasn't parted ways altogether with "WarCraft." He seemed like a golden choice to oversee the film, but Legendary Pictures will have to be patient with him if they want to hold their current team together.
If del Toro didn't have a lifetime's worth of announced work in front of him already, I'd say someone should give him a call, but as it stands it wouldn't hurt for Legendary to keep their options open should Raimi move on completely. Kenneth Branagh's "Thor" will be coming out next year, and if it manages to stir up some thunder (no pun intended), he could be worth penciling in for a meeting if he's interested.

Blizz with their huge financial strength should be able to push for this movie to come sooner rather than later. It surprises me that they are sticking with Raimi if he's going to take this long.
I think the film would be pretty good tbh.

Aslong as they don't add world of to the beginning of it cos warcraft is a pretty decent game

I hope they don't have world of warcraft in the movies title. I don't think any of my freinds will want to see it with me if it does lol.

Wrong move. Misawa is the movie master of HxF. No homo.
