View Full Version : Getting to know the staff..

I know WTFriday is probably not on everyone's favourite Habbo competition but why not bring it to Habbox.

Say every 2 weeks or something an announcement is posted where members can PM an account, something like HabboxGod or something and the most suitable (number) can be published and answered.

The way I think it could be answered is if someone like Oli had access to the account made - then at the end of the first week he could choose a variety of questions, and PM the staff that they are aimed at (then the 2nd week is to get all the PMs back) then finally it could be posted in an announcement. This would help the community know who the staff really are - the questions could also be anonymous if needs be if it's sort of a noobish question they could end the PM with 'anonymous question' or something.

But basically I think it would help us get to know some facts about the staff and also one of the questions chosen could be like 'question of the week/month' and win a month vip?

Anyhow, just an idea I would listen to the pros and cons.

I'd happily answer any questions thrown at me - seems a good idea..

I quite like this idea as I do worry that staff are quite out of touch with members, it'd be good for General Management to do something like this too as we've all been a bit quiet at the moment :P Discuss!

Lol wierd, I've been thinking of something similar for the past few days now. I'd happily answer any questions too.

Inseriousity.

Ok here's one, why don't you ever cut your hair you ginger mop? :D

I'm gonna talk to Matt and Roxy about running this because I really do like it, I wanna see if others do too though, no point in running a competition just for you guys! :P

I think the idea is good but PMing an account and then sifting through and relaying them back to the individual is a bit long winded. Perhaps it could be weekly - general management answer a few every week alongside departments who take it in turns to answer them. Can just post a thread beginning of that week "Ask any questions for RVRs and General Management for week 7-14th" and then pick the ones they wanna answer. To be honest, I'm not sure if I simplified it at all :P

Should have said something tututut ;).

And if I was ever allowed to be staff again I would answer questions. Just saying (A).

Also, I wasn't alienating General Management saying that questions couldn't be answered about them, I just think if it did occur a question about general management then someone else may have to have access to the account?

Or, a couple of questions could be placed as honourable mention but not answered.

Also, a question could be asked to all staff members, and a couple from different departments could answer them etc. :P

If this double posts then I'm sorry - merge away.

I think what you are saying is to pick a different department each week, like General Management one week, rare values the next. But in doing so 2 departments a week could be quicker and more fluent as you could pick 5 questions from each department.

Also, what you are saying is somewhere in something like feedback a thread could be called 'ask questions to events and hxhd here' and members would post them - the only problem I find with that is the anonymous level now gets scrapped and people may be a bit wary to ask a question if everyone can see.

But maybe, you could have it in something like a subforum in feedback etc, near complain about a staff member or something.

But like you said a thread would make it quicker, and it would also stop duplicate answers.
I suggest that if duplicate answers are shown - using the PM system then a random number generator should be used - don't want habbox to fail like habbo now - do we? :D

Also, if say one week, all questions were aimed at Oli (this is just an example because Oli isn't that popular ;)) and say something like 67 questions were asked and he had to pick 10 on his own accord, then he may choose not to answer the more personal ones or the harder ones, if you get me.

Maybe a random number generator could be used with the PM system, then the PMs that aren't chosen could be deleted, etc.

Love the idea but I think you'd have to have 1 or 2 from each department answering questions and then alternate it through the department so everyone gets a go at answering.

And now now, I've seen Jamesy's hair on post a picture of you, it's not that bad. I like longish hair on boys/men.

Anyway, I'm sure you should discuss the idea, not rebel against hair ;)! :D

Why would we, I don't think you understood fully.

Basically, the member chooses who they want to answer the question - but I get what you mean, say if it was between you and hoteluser who got a question to answer, and hoteluser got it, then the same thing occurred the next week, then it's only fair that you get a question.

However, I did say a random number generator would be your best bet, as some staff could favouritise, not saying they do, but you see where I'm coming from?

I think it's a good idea but needs simplifying.

Also, what's this nonsense about shifting questions so 'everyone gets a go', surely its the members choice, and not the staffs :l

Yeah but inevitably the more well known staff will get more questions than noobs like me.

yes, but if only a few are picked each week, then it doesn't make much difference does it?

Like I said, the only way you could probably shift it around a bit is if you asked a question for a department as a whole, in which you could use a random number generator to pick a couple from there.

The PM (if used could look something along the lines like)

Name: Samanfa or Anonymous.
Staff to question: Yupt
Question: Do you like being in a department with another Mike?
Made it up.

But in the staff to question you could place 'events' etc. if that would help at all to even things out.

Sure more well known staff may get more questions, but surely if you are dedicated, post a bit, then you may get chosen.

If 550+ posts in 3 weeks isn't dedicated then wow lol.

Anyway yeah I like ur idea :)
