basicallyyy i can get internet on my home pc, but for some reason the wireless wont show up on my laptop under the available connections and i need to get onnn help please :(

yeah im sitting right next to it, it worked fine before but it stopped altogther then we fixed it on the pc but the wireless still doesnt work at all

is the wireless chip/adapter thing installed? the driver?

well i havent uninstalled anything, and the thing is its not just mine, its stopped on my brothers laptop as well.

ok i just went into the router settings thing by putting the ip address in the address bar and for some reason the access point was set to disabled so i enabled it, now the router shows up on my laptop but i still cant connect to it :S

you've prob set your router so it wont show up on any other devices lke laptop etc and it'll only work on the computer its plugged into, check out the routers settings :)

check your router settings, turn off the whole power supply to the router and try again if all fails re-install the router to your computer

cant access it.. as in? connects but no internet connectivity? elaborate please

i never said cant access, i said cant connect, as in i click on it and it says "windows cannot connect to this network" but nvm i had a play round with some of the settings and ive done it now, thanks for replies everyoneeeeeee

Your problems could point to different ways:

- Multiple local IP-addresses is connected (2 computers with same local IP)
- Bad channel (happend for me. I can login to my routers frontpage and set a channel - some channels are better than others)

These are just two of many problems, but can you give more information about your router? What kind (with Model number).
