Bad situation..

Don't know where to start. I'll give you a bit of a background story to start off with.

For the past couple of years I'd been noticing this girl around school, the year below me. Had never spoke to her before, but when I walked past her, I don't know, I'd get butterflies. Anyway, really on this year, for some mad reason she added me on MSN. We got talking, texting, etc. We'd walk past each other in school and like, be scared to look at each other but manage to nervously smile at each other. One night in April-ish I was out in town, she happened to be there. For the first time, we got talking in person, and yeah. From that point on we were basically in love with one another.

It's been on and off since then, but yeah, anyway. In May she ended it, and we'd been talking as friends since. Then about a month or so ago, it all started again. The late-night phonecalls. The constant texting. The shy smiles. We told each other we still had feelings for each other and basically got back together. I hadn't been so happy in so long.

And then I have this friend I have that I'd always talk to about her, confide in, ask for advice. He was good mate of mine. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, she went to a party I didn't really feel up to going to. It was a Saturday night. She called me about midnight saying 'i love you' etc. I went to bed, and then woke up to a text from her saying 'I need to speak to you, something happened :/'. I think you can guess what. Yeah, she slept with my best mate.

She told me she was drunk. Her best friend and two other people told me she wasn't. It was her first time, which makes it hurt even more. I offered to take her back. She wouldn't let me. Been totally destroyed since.

I still haven't said a word to 'my mate'. He said he wants to talk to me, but yeah, I don't know what to say? Should I forgive him? He said he 'kinda knew we were back together again'. This guy meant a hell of a lot to me before this happened and I don't want to lose him as a friend. But I just don't know. What do you think?

She obviously doesn't like you if she doesnt want you to go back with her, she's just trying to make it so she doesn't hurt your feelings. Best that you just move on really.

As for your mate, he's a **** and should forget about him too, there's nothing really to say imo.

I feel sorry for you man. I've always been told that the best thing to do in life is to "forgive, but never forget". I don't know if this saying is true because I've never followed it, I've never forgiven people that did wrong to me and I do regret it...

Can you not talk to her and say that you don't care that she slept with him etc and maybe work something out? As for your mate, try and forgive him. I understand that you're probably angry and upset but you might regret it in the future, losing a good mate.

I disagree, if he says he doesnt care, thats just like a free pass to walk all over him. He's gotta show that if she really does want him then hes not gonna be walked all over. And i disagree with the 2nd bit aswell, this is like the worst thing a friend can do, and if just a bit of alcohol changes your mind that much then wow. I know it can make you do stupid things but you still know what you're doing, and one shouldnt even contemplate sleeping with their best friends girl. He's an idiot and should be forgotten about.
