Simply, tell me what you use for your encoder for example "normalMP3, MP3PRO" etc etc
For mine, is as follows ;)

Mines custom to al-line with my mixer, and my audio interface.
Sounds good enough for streaming at 96KB
if you wonder why its set to MONO for me, is cause that means i can have the output feed from the mixer "master" at low, and when i stream, it seems loud on your end ;)

96Kb/s is horrific quality, have you heard Habbox Live lately?!

I know the quality would seem horrific to you. but with a LAME MP3 codec its clear. and habboxlive. Most djs ive seen on range between 48kb to 96kb? so really i dont know there limit for the radio

Best just to stick with what they tell you. I'm sure they have reasons for their settings.

If they recommend 96kb/s then I think they should get better servers

No ones recommended anything yet, i asked gems but not yet recived a reply. only reason i have to change my settings, is cause of the audio interface i use, to grab the audio via XLR leads.
We use 64kb/s, 22.1 kHz, Stereo (Fast Resampling) as some people still have poor internet speeds, so any higher could make them buffer. If everybody uses the same encoder details, switch overs should be nice and smooth :)
