Ok. I don't wish to post any spoilers, but truley this is the highlight of the game. In perfect honesty this is probably the best storyline from any single call of duty game.

Any other views on it?

Completed it this morning, I 100% agree with you about the best storyline out of all the call of duty's.

I liked it, but the story was forgettable and incredibly far fetched. Most have probably not played the original Call of Duty games - I have but I cannot for the life of me remember the storylines, but from Call of Duty 4 onwards, the stories have been pretty weak, so calling it the very best is not much to write home about. It just seemed there for the sake of covering the various locations and periods. As always it was fairly pretentious fare, ripped off the game Vietcong, ripped off the movie The Deer Hunter, has horrible voice acting from Sam Worthington, and is just pretty formulaic overall. They need to up their game big time if they want to stay fresh rather than recycling action movie-like set pieces every game.

Yes, it was one of the best. However, as a game it wasn't very interesting. So many cutscenes I wanted to skip through and then some cutscenes I did. Was quite annoying. In the end, I enjoyed it which is all that matters right?

I too have played every call fo duty and agree i can barley remember any storylines apart from MW2. and obviously it would be far fetched as it was set in the COLD WAR XD so technically there shouldn't be any fighting. but i agree with you that they need to reinvent themself if they wish to stay fresh.

And to wiizzz i enjoyed the added cut scenes as ti gave the story more depth and interaction.

I think it was the masked voice that annoyed me the most.

The interrogation did get on my nerves, that and all the flashy cinematics since there were just so many of them. I'm fine with it taking place in an alternate history, but warfare was the complete opposite in the '60s. 90% of the tech in the game didn't even exist! And I didn't know Mayor Quimby from The Simpsons was President.

Horrible, horrible storytelling at work. I hate it when a game doesn't like me touching its narrative, pulled a MW2 No Russian for over six hours.

Enjoyed it nonetheless.

I thought it was one of the best campaigns i've played mission wise although the actual story behind it was terrible, owell bring on mp and zombies :)

The missions were some of the best so far interms of the fun facter, but veteran is no longer difficult in anyway.
The story wasn't amazing but its a game, at the end of the day I dont play for the story I play for the fun.

IMO, it was quite slow, took core elements from the MW franchise (i.e. an evil russian with a second in command etc.) and took elements from assassins creed (well the idea of looking back into the mind). It also kinda destroyed something IW done quite well, which was make the game completely in first person with no proper cut scenes, the only one I could think of was the space thing which I personally dont consider a cutscene, but others do. Also the fact some parts do not really work as you look back into his mind, yet you see through someone elses eyes. Set itself up with plot holes most likely.

Although, I do like
the bit how reznov never came back, and I will enjoy looking back through reznov bits again and pointing out bits which make complete sense now. Like in the tunnels, the guy asks "whats wrong with you" and the fact how reznov "joined" SOG

Also what might be a plot hole (I didn't watch the end properly showing what everything really was, so correct me if I am wrong)
In hue city (sp?), mason gets hit to the ground and then "reznov" stabs the guy in the back so mason is free, but reznov died back in vurkuta... I know it should scenes where it was what actually happened but I dont remember seeing that and even if there was a scene showing it, it still doesn't really make sense.

Ha! That's what I thought when I heard him speak.

Ditto. ^ :D

The reznov didnt make total sense to me until the end but I found it a bit odd at times where he suddenly appeared.

I thought the campaign was a bit odd, I mean I enjoyed it, and a lot of parts made sense when:
It was revealed that Reznov was a figment of Mason's imagination, especially the part in the rat tunnels
But I ended up only being compelled to complete it because of the achievements, not because I wanted to see what happened in the end.

Best COD campaign yet..

I like how if you replay it, everytime you see Reznov you'll hear the numbers :D Didn't notice them before.....
