but it's harry potter. the last harry potter film. no1curr about your review whether it be positive or negative. get off your high horse.

lol I agree! that seems a weird statement to make really. Reviews from critics aren't a necessity. They could still make films and successful ones too without reviews. I'd normally listen to the review from someone I know well (word-of-mouth) more than a stranger tbh.

Yes, reviews will have no impact on Harry Potter as it's the first of the final part in the franchise. I was generalising, as were you when you said "reviews are stupid", which are clearly the words of a stupid person.

'clearly' stupid? at least i'm not wasting my time writing my *OPINION* (that's all reviews are sry2say) and expecting people to take my advice on whether to see it or not. anyone who thinks they have that sorta influence is clearly stupid.

Yes, reviews are opinion. Perhaps if you weren't so ignorant you'd realise just how many people are influenced by reviews. I can't count the amount of people who see or avoid films or TV shows because of my words - each of my reviews get thousands upon thousands of reads. Go talk to the biggest sites on the net and newspapers and tell them that their critics have no influence over people seeing movies when they have far more of an audience than me. The existence of critics is to influence and influence we do. Oh, and I love people who don't know what they're talking about try and argue a point against someone who is a professional at said topic. It's just so idiotic. Jog on.

Why do movie studios pay big bucks to quote reviews on their marketing, i.e. posters? Hmm, I bet it's because no one cares what critics have to say...

And wasting my time? Writing for Screenjabber has given me a number of fantastic opportunities.

On topic: our review is live on the site. We gave it a full five stars. I can't link you as the embargo on the film is very weird but it's live on the site.

Reviews are for people who are into film, or just want to read an educated opinion.

If you don't want one, you don't want one. Although I don't trust any of my friends when it comes to 'reviewing' anything as they usually have a metric of either

"Well good."
or
"it's ****"
or
"alright"

I think it's great how it's progressed and the effects just are fantastic and everything. I still really love the first one just as much though! :P Hopefully going to see the film either at the weekend or early next week.

I prefer the films simply because i prefer films to books. Im far too impatient and irritable to read a massive book, not to mention i dont have a particularly amazing imagination. People have their own opinions on what they prefer n whatever, so if they dont like books then dont spoil it for them, not hard.

I watched it this morning, and personally although it was quite good, it was a let down in terms of what they left out. To me it seemed really incoherent, but that might be because since I've read it I kept focusing on what they kept out. And two of my most favourite parts in the book were removed from the film, which I was really annoyed about.

Altogether though, it was quite a good film, and was quite close to general theme of the book. Now I cant wait to see part 2 :).

yet no-one cared when hedwig & mad eye moody died!?! it was like "omg hedwig ... bye", "hey, mad-eye died....oh" which made me rage:@

the 4 girls next to me were crying when dobby died. i didnt cause 3 of my friends infront kept looking back at the other 2 of us to see our reactions at everything :/ & when you see dumbledore fallng everyone was like "nooo!" nn n n when the twin was ~holey~ ngl i nearly cried i thought they killed him off (omg when they do am not gonna handle it:()
anywayyyyy more about the film

the first scene was like not scary at all. i think probably cause we're so used to seeing voldemort for a few minutes at a time or right at the end but here it was straight away for a long time. the scene was meant to be scary i think but :/ just wasn't. DRACO WAS FAB THOUGH OFC! n before then i wanted to see dudley & the rest say good-bye to harry :S but they didn't.

oh yeh i quite liked the fight when they were 7 harrys, it was better than i thought. looking back it seems stupid tho lol

ginny & harry's kiss was so awkward it was just like HI -kiss- why would u even do that? i rly don't like ginny. i actually said "awkwardddd" when it came on n got told to shutup by this guy with pumpkin juice & berty botts (idk) every flavour bean.

+ wasn't harry meant to be disgused as rons cousin at the wedding? :/

i thought the scene at godric's hollow was really good aswell

the whole ron n hermoine thing was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too rushed :S

oh & i was hoping it'd be serious, they were putting in comedy bits at the wrong time >.> urgh like at the manor when peter pettigrew comes down and dobby uses his wand on him n he makes a 'funny sound' ****

same as when the twin was half-dead and i know he's supposed to be funny n witty but give me time to grieve:@

+ when they disguise them as ministry members ITS MEANT TO BE OMG TENSION BUT NO.

overall good though. prob missed stuff, going again next week:)

I feel for you - practically everyone knew about that from when the book was released, even those who've never read them (like me), so you did well to last this long - it sucks that you had it ruined just days before seeing the film.

And about the reviews thing above, all the critics I know are honest with what they write. You'll rarely find dishonest reviews from professionals because it's their reputation on the line. I know I'm always honest.

Sure does. I think what happens in this film is actually the only spoiler I was able to avoid until now, so I am pretty pissed off. I'm looking forward to seeing it as tbh, I haven't really heard one bad word about it.

Tis a shame it all has to end :(

Yeah same, there's gonna be a huge gap left when it finishes. :P

I haven't seen it yet, might do soon, but might just wait for the DVD

Sounds like a really good film though

Was really good

Liked how the deathly hallows is the wand, resurrecting stone thing and the invisibility cloak. So the stone will be in the next film.

am i the only one that thought the animation for when they were explaining the deathly hallows, really good? I just really liked the design and yeah. Was brilliant that bit.

And so was the whole film ofc.

I saw this film the other day, I really enjoyed it and I can't wait for part 2. I may read the books as I have never got round to it.

there was a leak of the first 36 minutes lol although im trying to stay strong and not look, I will save it for the cinema screen!

ps. rozi, what if it's.... god forbid... rubbish -shudder- then youre watching a rubbish film 3 times :P

thank god it wasn't! It was much better the second time because I was in a (much) better cinema and the audience wasn't so loud and 12-year-old ish.

really really looking forward to the 3rd time aha.

I thought the animations were really really good! At first I was like o.o but it was fab!

I think Jen about summed my thoughts up. I was really annoyed when they made Harry and Hermione kiss in the bit with Ron. I was like OK, THEY CAN KISS, BUT SERIOUSLY, NAKEDNESS?

Why did Harry and Hermione kissing annoy you?

Inseriousity.

i thought the first death was sadder :(

in the book i never really thought about how tortured she'd be dangling above the table but when she goes 'we were friends', awwww that's so sad. No-one to help her out

It was okay. I'm hoping Part 2 will be better, if they actually do a good job of the battle.

Part 1 had a decent start, then got pretty boring for 90 minutes, and then got better. Loved the cliffhanger though, great way to end it.

Wow it was great. How funny was it when Harry and jinny are kissing and Fred comes in quietly and just looks and says something ahahahajaha

I thought Harry's reaction to
Hedwig's death was quite good. It is difficult to explain his tone, but it was very desperate, mixed with surprise, guilt and of course sadness. I thought Daniel Radcliffe did a great job there, but I wish they would have actually addressed the owls death a couple of minutes later when the characters were out of trouble. Harry seemed to get over it way too fast.

One other thing that concerned me was
Umbridge's return. She was taken away by centaurs like two movies ago and I remember reading that she was saved by Dumbledore in the books (or something like that) but unless I am missing something from the film before this one, they never really showed what happened after she got taken away. They probably showed it in a short newspaper clipping in The Half Blood Prince or something, but I think they needed to explain what happened to her a little more as I was a little confused after she showed up in The Deathly Hallows.

It doesn't really leave you on a cliffhanger.

lolwut? Yes it does. :S

Caution. Don't read if you haven't read the books!

I loved it especially when
we found out Harry is a Wizard

Just been to see this tonight. Absolutely brilliant film; as expected.

I think a bigger deal should have been made over the death of Hedwig and Mad-Eye but I do think the Dobby ordeal was very good (although sad! :().

There was a show on TV a couple of days ago showing you how they made some of the scenes which was a good watch if you missed it. Can't wait for the next one now! :)

i completely agree with all of that

mad eye had a more important role and was probably a bigger loss than dobby (even if he did save them in his last moments but you know) so the lack of reaction to that, for me was a bit :S

I saw it last night, and quite simply, I thought it was incredible. Compared to the last film, they have barely removed or altered anything (main storyline-wise anyway) and the acting has got considerably better.

Just a shame about Mad-Eye's death being somewhat dismissed very quickly.

Also, in pretty much every scene, it's exactly how I imagined it when reading the book. Excellent work!

(Also also, I think i'm in love with Hermione).

Couldn't agree any more!
I was a bit let down with the fight at the start (whilst transporting Harry to the burrow) because there's so much more they could have done, like falling off the bike.
Also when they were at Godrics Hollow - Voldemort didn't even come ;l

But thinking about it they made all the scenes very true to the book :)

Me first.

I thought Dan did rather well in this film, acting wise. I've not been a huge fan of his acting since the first film but this one was rather good, as someone said before..

Personally, I wasn't impressed with this Harry Potter film in comparison to some of the others. I preferred the one where Dumbledore and Voldermort had that duel.

What happened to Umbridge was shown at the end of the fifth film in one of the newspapers. It sais something like her being investigated for corruption or something like that lol.

Saw it today. Amazing. I can see where it would've been in 3D...that would've been SO much more effective in some parts.

And omg dobby died :( I love Dobby.

There wasn't MUCH action in this was kinda upset me but I did love the action bits. Can't wait for the last one...but it's hard to think "No more HP movies" ;o
