Looking around the internet there seems to be a very big demand for a 23" or so 3D monitor like the current ones, but which have hdmi 1.4 so they can work with a PS3 as well as Nvidia 3D vision. I've also been searching around quite a lot and am surprised that companies haven't made one yet. No screens using HDMI 1.4 is probably what is holding back at least half of the potential sales.

If anyone finds a 3D LCD/LED PC monitor which has HDMI 1.4 could you link me to it? +rep.

I'd have thought you'd be extremely lucky if you find a monitor both PS3 3D and Nvidia 3D capable.

Well the current Nvidia 3D vision ones could very well be PS3 3D ready, the only difference needed is the HDMI version.

Wouldn't standard 3D (PS3 compat.) be redundant if your wanting to use Nvidia 3D? I always thought the Nvidia was simulated and that it could use all (most) LCD monitors?

Nope. Nvidia 3D vision needs a stereoscopic 3D monitor.

All that's really needed is a 120Hz monitor or TV i believe.

And the glasses obviously.

Edit: It seems that some 120Hz screens don't work, not sure why.

Oh technology, you can't be simple can you? So what I'm reading here is that you can't simply buy a 3D Television (typically 120Hz) because some don't work? and how is PS3 3D different to the 3D generated by NVIDIA graphic cards?

For Nvidia 3D you need their glasses and wireless transmitter or a start.

Well seeing as PS3 is HDMI 1.3 i dont see how you would specifically need a 1.4 monitor.
I know that with a 3D projector you need The Glasses and a sync (RS232) cable. Im none the wiser on monitors seeing as i just thought according the the Nvidia starter kit you only need a 3D gpu and a 120hz monitor

The PS3 won't output a 3D signal unless it detects it's connected to a HDMI 1.4 device. 1.3 can be updated to 1.4 with firmware because it's to do with how it sends 3D data rather than video capacity.

Im thinking that it can't be updated and ps3 will still be on 1.3 yet they will implement the new handshaking routines and stuff. seeing as most of the features in 1.4 are hardware based
