Hi,

I'm just wondering is there any feasible way to...

A customer clicks a PayPal link/button from our site
This obviously leads them to the PayPal page
They pay and complete the transaction
They then get redirected back to OUR site, with their payment details/name/address etc. added to a database on our hosting (MySQL etc.)

Really need this, as it's to do with this competition thing, so we obviously need all the details of everyone that has bought a ticket into a nice and easy database.

Thanks! +Rep for any help! :D

I would of originally said no since PayPal I thought is a way of bypassing the merchant so they can't see your details. However after having a little look on PayPal X, I found this https://www.x.com/thread/41870 - which may be of some use to you :)

Thanks buddy! Unfortunately for me, i've never XML or any sort of API function, so i'm going to have to do my homework on this!

Thought about Pulley (http://pulleyapp.com) or Quixly (http://quixly.com)? They're digital goods services, so you could perhaps sell a PDF or even PNG saying (You've Been Entered!) and the customer records of all who bought it get stored in your account :) Most offer free and trial plans.

P.S. Had a little look and Quixly would suit this well, you could sell a small size PNG, not bypass the 50MB bandwidth limit on the free plan, customise the email sent to buyers to say 'Thanks for your entry' and all records would be in your Quixly account.

Just had a quick look and it looks great, i'll go into deeper analysis later on. :)

Thanks!

I wouldn't try doing this unless you have the integrated paypal payment, otherwise people get scared that you haxx'd them.

It's called the PayPal IPN. It reports back to your web address with the transaction details... This might be of help... http://www.web-development-blog.com/archives/easy-payments-using-paypal-ipn/

If not.. just google PHP PayPal IPN.. should give you some pretty neat instructions... plus you can use it for other things beside the competition if you ever need it.
