Coronation Street's 50th Anniversary live episode will go on air on the 6th December.

ITV has announced that Coronation Street will broadcast its live episode on December 9.

It was confirmed (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3/coronation-street/news/a270820/coronation-street-confirms-live-episode.html) in September that the Manchester-based soap would transmit live as part of its 50th anniversary. A special week of episodes beginning on December 6 will see the Street left devastated following an explosion and subsequent tram crash.

The one-hour live episode will be broadcast on Thursday December 9 from 8pm.

Corrie producer Phil Collinson previously teased (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3/coronation-street/news/a283032/corrie-producer-reveals-live-ep-plans.html) that he wants the episode to be the "most spectacular piece of live television people have ever seen".
Live episode will feature a large tram crash, apparently one of the biggest explosions in soap history

Can't wait for this, don't watch Corrie reguarly but definitely going to watch this. Apparently Eastenders is going to have decent episodes around this time too.

They all have good story lines around Christmas time, didn't know that corrie was going to do a live episode...

Already knew about the Tram crash
where a lot of people (some main characters) die too

Coronation Street's cast consists of actors, EastEnders' doesn't, so I'm sure they'll do perfectly fine.

The tram crash was recorded a few weeks ago so if it's a live episode, that part won't be.

Probably just after it crashes, where people are trapped.

Anyway I find alot of the corrie ones are worse then ones on eastenders so yeah.
