As despite them not being announced, they still had permissions: thus why not start early? Sure it's going to look a bit dodgy without them being announced but they were in the CNB so I think it's fair to say that they were allowed to! :)
...or I suppose you could roll with Matt's story! ;)

We tried to hold them back but we were fighting a losing battle. They were all just so eager to start doing some events ;).. or I suppose you could roll with Alex's story.

You're kinda making a big deal out of nothing. It's obvious without the announcement that if someone posts 'QUIZ - 8PM' in the CNB and they have 'Trialist Events Organiser' in their usertitle that they're a new EO.
