I know Very are pretty reputable, but looking at a HTC Wildfire here: http://www.very.co.uk/htc-mobile-phone-wildfire-vodafone/800613664.prd?browseToken=/s/price,1/r/100/promo/17500014&prdToken=/p/prod4910099-sku7520735
It seems pretty reasonable, any HTC owners to vouch for the handset, and more importantly any Vodafone customers? It would be great to unlock it to GiffGaff as I don't really like Vodafone one bit :/
What does everyone think? Might be my preference over the LG Optimus when it comes back into stock.

I have a couple of friends with one and they are very happy with them, they feel nice and sturdy too and run the latest version of Android, it's a very nice budget phone tbh

Looks ugly tbh, the optimus looks slightly better and can run 2.1 aswell and its cheaper, up to you though.
edit: this should get u £25 off ZZ629

It does seem a bit less software branded and brownish ugly than the HTC (both can run 2.1 though, I think) so I'll probably go LG over the Wildfire at the moment.

Discount Love Cheers, tells me you need a credit account unfortunately but ah well :)

I have the LG Optimus, it's crap to be honest, I can't update it to 2.1 as much as I try, so I am having to buy a HTC for Christmas :

In that case I'll fight tooth and nail for a HTC, failing that I'll just buy an LG like I have for the past 4 years :/ Cheers everyone.

I have sent it back to lg for them to update it lmao
I have the wildfire, and imo its great. All the features are great and if you can buy it for £130 you should go for it. :)

I think its a good HTC phone for that price and with Android getting better and better I'd go for it over the LG.

I highly recommend this phone. I don't have one myself, but I have been on them and have looked at literally thousands of reviews & unboxing videos of them. :)
Also, I have had AWFUL experiences with LG phones...

Actually, most UK networks only have it with 2.1 due to some restrictions from HTC a while back or something. :(

My Dad ordered me a HTC Wildfire for Christmas a couple of months ago and Vodafone constantly said it was "out of stock"... couple of weeks ago we got an email out of the blue saying it had been dispatched though and it arrived the following Monday. I had it unlocked so I could use my 3 sim-card and I've been using it all week.
Seriously the best phone I've had. Fast, easy, useful and fun; it's getting to the point where I'm putting all my reminders and schedule on it.. it runs my life! :P
Would really recommend it over the LG - much better looking aswell (A)

about Vodafone, I was on that network for about 6 month and I was really quite satisfied apart from when I went to Shell Island or whatever it's called, I couldn't get a signal for about 2 miles.

I'm on 3 and simply can't get a signal in the new block of my school (lots of insulation) but my friend who's on Vodafone has it fine. It doesn't seem like a bad network :)

The Wildfire is no Galaxy or Desire/N1, but as far as QVGA Android handsets go it's pretty darn good.
However for 130 pounds you can likely get a HTC Dream, or Magic, which sport a HVGA display. That's twice the resolution.

HTC Magic and Dream are slow as turtles compared to the Wildfire and they're stuck on 1.6 officially.

"Officially" although the HTC Dream has absolutely amazing support for rooting and a fleet of custom roms, as you more than anyone should know best of course :D

The ROMs are fantastic, but (from booting it up the other day) JESSSSSUSSSSS it's slow, and the unofficial 2.2 ROMs have had a lot taken out of them to slim it down.

I would avoid DialAPhone if I were you! Bought my last phone off them. Incorrect description of phone (came as a somewhat OEM product...), comes with obligatory insurance that is just awkward to cancel and their support just sucks! Also, my phone now is almost completely unusable, without any damage happening to it or anything.

We have also had a bad experience with DialAPhone, which is surprising considering they're a branch of Phones 4U. Funnily enough, it was a HTC Wildfire we ordered back in July. It came at the beginning of August and we took it to Florida with us on holiday. The SIM Card wasn't connecting though, so my Dad just continued using his old PAYG contract. When we returned home, there was a letter asking us to return the phone to them, as there was an "adminstration error"... obviously they weren't going to connect the phone so we just sent it back and re-ordered.

Ahh. So some of you guys posted while I was purchasing the phone. I did get the opportunity to remove the insurance, but I hope the handset doesn't have any problems. Oh dear?
I did get promised a delivery date of 6th December so it's probably not getting the phone that will be the issue.

Uh oh!
Should of waited for feedback then aye? ;)
Hopefully it should be fine, I wouldn't worry about it. :)
