View Full Version : iPhone 3
Hey people, I'm thinking of buying the Apple iPhone 3 & i'm trying to find the cheapest price from a reliable shop (online or offline).
I'm looking at the 8gb on Orange & have found the cheapest at £385 + £10 credit (I've not done much searching at the moment) and was just wondering if anybody has found this anywhere cheaper.
If you do find it cheaper tell me where & provide a link if possible.
Thanks in advance.

You mean iPhone 3GS? or the new iPhone 4? cheapest thing to do (over the whole year) is buy the phone on PAYG from Apple directly and get o2 simplicity for £15 a month (works out to about £700 over 12 months). Believe it or not this is the cheapest option, the only other alternative is to go on contract and pay £150 for the phone and £40 a month after that (works out at about £1100 over 12 months, over £1500 if your own a 18 month contract).

Yeah i meant the iPhone 3GS & on PAYG as i dont really use a lot of credit per month & would suit me better.

not sure where you got your prices but it's not £150 on £40 pm?
and he said three. he evidently means 3GS or 3G.
Edit: new, and reliable best bet is apple stores. the phone's unlocked normally and you know you've got your apple guarantee.
PAYG there's no point in having an iphone. your browsing alone will cost £1 at least?

iPhone 3GS is £100 up front (isn't it?) and AT LEAST £35 p/m, however if you want a GOOD contract you need to pay around £40. Either way there's not much difference between £35 and £40 (i used to have one, that's what i was paying on o2 pay monthly contract), still works out to roughly the same.
If you buy the phone on PAYG it's £400 then if you go on o2 simplicity £15 p/m it would work out to just under £600 over 12 months. Still far cheaper than going on contract.
I want the phone on PAYG tho and NOT contract :/

I'm not saying get it on contract, I am saying get an O2 simplicity SIM card to go in it. You will save a lot of money instead of topping up the odd £20 here and there, plus you get the internet if you go one Simplicity (3G data)

But i dont wanna pay the extra £15 a month as i dont use that much anyway & I would more than likely just use my WiFi connection & see what deals they have on offer.
Thanks for helping me anyway upto now :)

get an ipod touch then? the NEW ipod touch is arguably better than the iphone 3gs. i'd take a look at that if i were you. plus you get facetime with it.

the new ipod touch is just a beast, its practically the same as the iphone 4... but without the 3g capability
