I would say probably about a month depending on who you are.

I voted a day but really it doesn't matter, sometimes it happens before you've remembered to break up with the other one why wait if you wanna be with someone go for it

Depends on the nature of the break up in my view. I've had friends break up and instantly rebound to someone else and end that after a week. But like Tom says above, sometimes there is no need to wait! :)
It depends on the situation really & if you are going to stay friends & if they know the other person. I voted a month but if you truly love the new person then go for it :)

I also voted a month but like others have said it really depends on the situation.
I voted a month, but as others have already said it depends on the situation.

I don't think it really matters so I voted a day :)

Voted a week because you could already have liked someone else and already knew it was going to end...but it doesn't matter - it's when you're ready.

Depends on the length of the relationship you broke up from really, but probably about a month.

I voted for 1-2 weeks because a month is too long tbh.

about 3 weeks is the acceptable point for me, depending on the situation obviously.

I think if it was a serious and long relationship, probably a month. If it was a short one and not serious at all, then I wouldn't really know...possibly a week or two?

I don't think it matters. Whatever feels right to you is the right duration to "wait" in my opinion. If you find someone before what you think is an "acceptable period" why should you prolong your suffering to wait for it to be appropriate to pursue.

i voted month and year, but really it depends on the case.
personally i try not to date right after i break up with someone or have been broken up with. all of my relationships have been over a month apart, and for some its been several months.
A month to a year. It really does depend on the situation, i.e. how much you loved them, why you broke up, if you got dumped etc...

It's not really up to other people about this. But I think its up to you inside to make this choice. If I had to make the choice I'd say. Once you find another true love.

A month :D
but as others say, it depends on who and how long, i mean if you have been going out for 3 years, a day later would be awful..
I waited two weeks, I wasn't really dating as in the going out all the time.. Just casual seeing someone.

whoever voted 'a day' hasn't had a serious relationship yet
