Came across this, seems pretty good although not that many networks do it so it could get cheaper later on but anyway you get one of these MiFi dongle things

You then get it unlocked and then if you've already got unlimited internet on your phone contract just pop it in or go for a sim like this one...

wala wifi where ever you go, quite good and not that expensive if you like to have internet where ever u go.

Pretty sure a T-Mobile with £3 bolt-on (or whatever they call them) or a GiffGaff sim would be more appropriate but yeah, they're useful.

Cant find one for £3 although there is unlimited internet for £5 for t-mobile booster which is better i guess.
Knew it was something like that. Only problem with that though is the major networks 'Unlimited' is usually a 1GB a month which would be quite bad if your going to use a laptop with it, hence the former suggestion of GiffGaff, which is strangely owned and ran by o2, who do unlimited unlimited data usage.

Seems decent but at that price, and only 5 hours battery doesn't seem worth it just yet.

yea but hopefully more networks will pick up on this and improve on it because that and a giffgaff sim would be pretty nice

Yeah but giffgaff are stopping there free internet in a couple of months so you'll have to pay double, which still isnt bad.
I'm looking into it now, might beable to get one for £30. :)

I use my phone like this (Wifi tethering on Windows Phone) so I can use my iPod and laptop anywhere but it's a real drain on battery life and Vodafone's unlimited internet is rly about 500MBs. One lunch time at college I had 7 iPod Touch's connect, a few people watching YouTube vids and downloading stuff from iTunes and Vodafone hurriedly informed me I was about to use my 500MBs :/

I can already turn my Nexus One into a wifi access point. If this had better battery life I would consider it because I do have an Unlimited Data plan and an iPad which could use the internet (it's 3G less).

Personally no because I've never had the need to notice it sooner. Only since I've purchases a smartphone, and an iPad was when it's really caught my attention and since portable devices of this variety are getting more popular each day I think it's certainly cause in the increase in attention of tethering devices.
