Well the US Government took down tvshack.net a few months ago, but it seems that today they have also taken down their .cc address :(
Does anybody know if it has moved again or if this will mark the death of it?

Shouldn't of they just registered a domain outside the USA to avoid that?

They did.
Was it not illegal? I'm unsure though...

Well the thing is they didn't actually host the illegal content, they just linked to it which made it useful to find media with it.

Never used the website but was it essentially a tracker for TV torrents? If so, I use eztv.it which is pretty darn good :)

No, it had pretty much every movie and TV show ready to watch in your browser. Embedded videos.

Ah right, sounds like it was pretty useful (wish I had heard of it before now!).

Ok, the rumours are that TVShack will reappear at tvshack.es in the next few days.

As much as I hate the fact that such restrictions are being put in place such that they will likely eventually prevent me from obtaining the software I want for free, good on the United States government for looking out for their people's companies.

this is for TVshows, and movies etc, not software. I dont understand the law regarding TVshows, as if companies are willing to put TV on demand services such as iplayer, then they shouldnt be bothered that theyre aggregated on one site. Ok advertising, but, i dunno, its just stupid. But anyway, hopefully it'll appear soon because i need it :D
