So, I've been wanting a sleeve tattoo ever since I was about 13. I'm not 19, and I think the time is right to take the plunge and get it. Just wondering the general consencous on my idea!

I want to go with the whole heaven/angels/clouds theme. Heres a few pictures so you can picture it abit better.

i love that tattoo up there ^^^ it's really pretty, but is there any reason behind the tattoo or are you just getting it for the sake of it? :)

I prefer the first tattoo (first two images :P). I'm not keen on the second tattoo.

Like Alex said, is there any reason behind you wanting a 'divinity' inspired tattoo? And if you want it, go for it. It's your body afterall. I'll just say that tattoos like this cost a hell of a lot, and take a lot of time, and sessions to get them completed. And I can imagine they may be a bit painful as well.

Do some research and look for a credible tattooist, and choose some designs you want and see what they think and how they would put it together.

Oh, and don't rush into it. Take your time to decide what you want, so you'll love it even more when you get it :P.

I hate sleeve tattoos, hate 'em. It really depends on what design of tattoo your going for and I'm not really keen on that one. Maybe just something small representing what you want would look better?

That's generally what sleeves are? (except leg sleeves but still)
What's so bad about that?

Arms are generally the best place to get tattoos.

i like sleeve ones but i'm not too keen on the angles being so big and prominent on the ones you have there i prefer them to be like subtly symbolic not too in your face, like David Beckhams :-)!

To be honast though, the man in the bottom pic has bigger arms than David Beckham so that might make it seem more prominent

And to those asking about why I want this sort of tattoo: I've always had an unhealthy obession with what happens after death, and if heaven exists and stuff, so thats why I'm into all the sort of religious stuff. I also like what angels, cherrubs and dove represent.

You'll probably regret it when you're 30.

I think I should of added to the original post that I don't want the 'You'll regrett it when...' argument :l

I'm just being honest - that happens to about 80 percent of people who get them in a very public place at a young age, especially when their skin begins to wrinkle and the tattoos screw up. I have a tattoo on my back, but it's of my favourite movie of all time and so I know I won't ever regret it. I also made sure it wasn't on show.

Are you a Christian?

I don't like big tattoos, they look ugly in my opinion. But I would prefer that one than a devil. And it's quite subtle being black and white and all.

What happens if a new movie comes out which you like more? Same principal. And yes I am.

I very much doubt there will. And even if it does, it wouldn't matter.

I don't like those tats. I prefer small ones on your bicep or hand. But fi you want it get it :)

And for the record, I'm not against tattoos - it would be hypocritical of me to say I was, but probably 90 percent of teenagers who get them will regret it a few years later once they realise that hollow star they got on their wrist looks a bit stupid on a 25-year-old who grew out of the scene-teen phase.

If you're a Christian who wants nothing more than to spread their faith or whatever through body art, do it, I'm just highlighting a very true point. It's a more important decision than most people seem to realise and more often than not a spur of the moment fad. Removing them isn't cheap and involves a laser that burns them off like hot oil and takes multiple appointments pending size. I'm actually helping your decision, which is what I often do here, but as is apparently evident by others, people don't take too kindly to realists these days.
