My theory test is next friday so I was wondering what actually happens in the theory test?

Is it just 50 questions I have to answer or is there more to do? I feel like a dork for asking haha

Unless theyv've radically changed it since I took it, there should only be two parts to it.

The first part is like you said, the multiple choice questions, which you have to answer a certain amount correctly to pass.

The second part is the Hazard Perception portion, where you are shown a series of driving clips and you have to click every time you see a hazard develop and everytime the hazard itself develops and changes. The longer you wait to respond to the hazard, the lower the score (which I think is rated out of 5 for each hazard and each development). Like in the first part, you have to score a certain amount in order to pass.

You'll be given your results almost immediately after you've completed the test. And there is a time limit to the actual test I believe, but I think its quite lenient. I can remember this girl who was taking her test at the same time as me who had finished quite early and for some strange reason, decided not to call the examiner and fell asleep at her station. It wasn't until he came in to dismiss me that he noticed her and kicked her out.

Like I said, unless its changed since I took it, it should follow this format. But I did take my test 3 years ago, so it might be good to double check.

If you go on the DVLA or DSA website, I think they have a walkthrough of what you should expect in the test, as well as practice tests to get you prepared. You're also told what to do right before your test, and there is a practice portion at the beginning of each section of the test.

43 out of 50 on questions.

And then like

40/70 on Hazard?

The questions are ***** easy, some can catch you out so just read over every question to make sure you know exactly what its asking, there are a couple hard questions chuked in but even if you dont get them right you should still pass due to how easy the rest of it is.

As for the Hazard video, click all things you might call hazards and click again a second later (sometimes if you click to earily it wont be counted, this barely ever happens but just in case the 2ed click will get you the marks), obviously only things normal people would think are hazards not a leaf falling off a tree :P. You dont get marked down for clicking lots so click away, just dont do it in a pattern or you'll get kicked out for cheating.

When I took mine two years ago, they put you in a room, setup the computer and let you answer 50 multiple choice questions (it was easy I revised and got 49/50) then you do the hazard perception, where they show you videos of situations where a hazard can occur. When you see the hazard you click the mouse and it records it.. the pass mark for hazard is easy to get.. or it was :P

How much revision did you do?

About 2 or 3 mock tests a day from the Thursday before, most of it is common sense IMO, you just have to select the answer that will keep you and other people safest.

Literally just Googled for new mock tests each day! :P I also bought an AA "Complete Test" book for like £5 which has the Highway code, every single theory test question from the DSA that could come up and some tips for the Practical bit.

By the way, don't think you can't click a lot on the hazard perception, I clicked at just about anything that moved, and then clicked again 2 seconds later to make sure I didn't miss the time slot.
