I prefer it without sparkles. Looks nicer :) Because it's already a colour that we don't normally have, I suppose it doesn't really need sparkles?

Simple reason: It looked crap.

Feel free to discuss.

Yeah I prefer the old SMS method :(
Also I should probably complain about this or something idno but the phonline number although it says "You can not call this premium number" it still goes and charges £0.45 doesn't it ;l and I went and did that like 12 times (thinking it might work next time I ring) so that could have been £5.40 donated to Hx. But noooo

Just found this whilst looking for T&C's to see if they say they will charge you for non-sucessfull calls

"For payments via SMS
Please send an SMS message to the phone number shown on the screen. The message must contain the keyword and the order number, with a space in-between. Some payments require several messages, and only after having sent all the necessary messages you will have paid successfully."

Edit: Don't think you can use this method as you can't click "SMS" where it says "Call - Payment Method" :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

ino its not fair. . . like before we could use them and i wasted £3 one time by buying it but accidently closed down that window so it cost me £3 but yet it wouldnt let my buy it. . . which was crap lol

and also if they had SMS working on the xmas vip i think habbox would get much more money in from it because loads of people have a mobile . ..

Exactly, I was just lucky that I had a bit of money left on my PayPal so I could buy some otherwise I wouldn't have been able to donate this year.

We have had masses of problems with SMS donations via the company we use for phoneline which is why we cut SMS donation a while back, as it was charging people and then not sending us any contacts.

There aren't many other providers we can go with or trust, the one before this screwed us over and Jin has only just got his money back.

We are aware that not all mobiles accept these premium numbers but a lot do and from what we've heard it doesn't charge much extra, the most I've heard is £1.70 so it will have to do for now although we are looking at bringing back SMS.

I'm sure Jin is aware that there are other outfits able to provide this service (yes, the ability to pay via SMS is through a third party vendor and isn't affiliated with Habbox in any way, so if it's dysfunctional unfortunately there's nothing we can do).

If he finds a suitable alternative which can better accommodate for users, whilst at the same time uphold a reasonable amount of consistency in receiving payments I'm sure he will implement it. Unfortunately it's finding such a provider which is proving to be difficult.

kinda glad the sms thing is gone, it ripped me off like 5 times. it was so shoddy. that's not a criticism of habbox either, it was just a very shoddy system.

The other issue is that these solutions do not come cheap. An alternative service I was investigating is requesting £150 for the basic implementation which would be a long return. I will consider maybe offering sms again as a backup method within the current implementation but if you can't make the phone call that is because your network is blocking it.
