They have been known to become fairly famous..but I don't think they're always the best of that year...ie; Tinie Tempah & Bruno Mars have appeared from (what seems) nowhere and they weren't there this time last year so yh.
but haven't heard any of their music so i can't say :)

Dunno about the rest of them but Jessie J and Nero are already established acts, what a load of nonsense might as well put Nas on it because he's got a couple albums dropping in 2011

yeah only a few from each list every year seems to 'make it', and like you say theres always people that will not be on any of these kind of lists but just become huge. and tinie was kind of on the grime scene before he went mainstream anyway so i wouldnt count him

they arent exactly established, the rules say you cant have an album out or have already released a single that charted in the top 20, and jessies only single so far peaked just outside i think? dont really know anything about nero so i cant say.

Some whack dubstep DJ that everyone seems to love because apparently there's a way to tell the difference between one dubstep track and another, although no-one's let me in on the secret yet

They're normally right on 1 band & 1-2 artists each year. The others people just go...well that failed "/ lol...

this years list is proof that 2010 has been the best year for music in a long time.
Are warpaint even allowed on it? Their album was oct/nov and released to reasonable hype, but that's about it really, glad esben and James Blake got a mention, where the hell are frankie and the heartstrings & DOM??
Probably one of the more obscure lists BBC have come up with

nah you arent allowed to be on if youve released an album i thinkk. and i dont think frankie+heartstrings are allowed cos they were on some of the lists at the beginning of this year, not bbc but definitely some so there may be some kind of rule about how long youve been active idk
