Alot of websites have these sections and run them successfully.
Have Habbox never thought of this?
There's alot of trustworthy and cool people here to be able to have one in my opinion.
Could use a rating/feedback system too to become a trusted seller etc.
Just an idea, i'd personally love to see it happen.

Probably wont happen because it will be breaking the Fansite rules, Plus we dont want to turn into another site now do we?

Are you talking about an ebay sort of thing or a buy/sell virtual cuurency sort of thing? The latter would be unviable as habbox is an official fansite.

Why does it break the fansite rules?
I meant real items, not habbo hotel things.

I don't think having a section for selling real life items would be used as much. There is just no point in it here at Habbox.

I feel this way, however i suppose there's no harm in trying to innitiate it and maybe it could grow.

Works on other sites, never know - it might work here.

The trouble is this involves users giving each other their addresses, which is something we simply cannot accept happening. Most users who need to sell their stuff do it through official channels such as ebay and post a thread in the relevant forum, and these don't crop up enough to really require a whole new section.
Inseriousity.

Wasn't there a problem with the Runescape version of the 'trusted' list where those on the list started to abuse it? 100 times more risky with real life things!

Yeah this is one huge problem. With Ebay you have safeguarded methods, with habbox it would probably lead to accusations of scamming. I don't think cloning ourselves into an ebay type thing would work at all and would create lots of problems. The security of our members information is of very high importance to us and it's our job to ensure that such details are safeguarded.
You also have to remember that a large proportion of this forum are too young for this type of activity anyway and it could lead to further problems for us getting into trouble with parents etc.
It's a nice idea and I can see where you are coming from, but in my view it's too risky, doesn't really fit in with what we offer in terms of a forum and isn't really something which can be easily run without problems popping up.

Selling xbox 4gb? :P
I don't think it is needed - there are auction sites for this to happen anyway
