Christmas has many different meanings. Some follow the Christmas story or others just want to give and receive. So, to cut all the waffle, what does Christmas mean to you? I would like you to describe Christmas' meaning in only one sentence. This is very opinionated so be invented and original! Post your entries in this thread.

Christmas is a time to reflect back on the year, exploring the ups and downs, remembering those who have left us in years gone by and the start of something new.

Christmas should be that one day, where you know that most of the world is gathered together with the people they love, enjoying their lives for one day, no matter how terrible your life is outside of that day. It's the one day where you can go for a walk and say Merry Christmas, smile, and be happy to a complete stranger without being weird, just feeling happy and warm inside instead.

Then you turn on the TV and someone is getting shot on Eastenders. BORING.

Christmas to be is all about the real meaning of Christmas (Jesus) And also recieving and giving. I like giving people things because it shows how much i care for them and I like recieving also because it is nice to get new things and having a good time and having a great christmas dinner with all your family, and helping your family putting decorations around the house :D file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/ADMINI%7E1/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.pnghttp://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://rhapsodyinbooks.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/i2christmas_tree.png&imgrefurl=http://rhapsodyinbooks.wordpress.com/2008/12/13/who-invented-electric-christmas-tree-lights/&usg=__S29hgD3A6hAGZCm5cMFZQHdT_8o=&h=437&w=298&sz=54&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=pO1q7bzUJoFVVM:&tbnh=127&tbnw=87&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dchristmas%2Btree%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D10 24%26bih%3D592%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=524&vpy=71&dur=921&hovh=272&hovw=185&tx=115&ty=167&ei=ZNYQTZGUO9KZhQe96YS4Dg&oei=ZNYQTZGUO9KZhQe96YS4Dg&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0

When I was little, it used to mean excitement, presents, cards, christmas spirit. But as you know, I am Russian and in Russia we do not have Christmas. Christmas was made up, well not made up, but I am a Russian Orthodox (slightly different views to Christians) and we believe that Jesus was born on a different date. Our Russian Christmas is on New Year, so the way you English guys celebrate Christmas, we celebrate the New Year!
