Is it true that white fillings are free on the NHS if they're at the front of your teeth? Tomorrow I'm having a very small filling done on a tooth at the front of my mouth and it's going to look horrible if I have a black filling :(
Thanks in advance!

Its not just for under 16's. It for people in full time eductation.

NHS care is free anyways, I dont expect to be stopped at A&E while I check my bank account to see if I can pay for care..

I know you've already gave me rep Chantelle but another thing. The NHS is free if you are in full time education to the age of 19.
Also if you are disabled in anyway you will have it free. Also if you are a carer of someone that is disabled then they will also receive free dental treatment.
And like I said, I have had many white fillings done and if they had have cost I wouldn't have been able to afford them let alone have them done, so yes as you are only 16 Chantelle it is free. :)

Thanks for all the help everyone :)
I had it done today and it seems I got the wrong idea, the tooth that got the filling was the second from last molar at the bottom, I can't tell if the filling is white or silver, it's sort of a mix between the two. It's only noticable if I laugh with my head back and my mouth unnaturally wide open lol so that's okay :).

it will probably go silver further on in time, which is what happened to mine.

Odear. I would demand a white one I think they would probably put in a white one even if it wasn't free.

If it has some colour to it then it's silver. They match the white ones to the colour of your teeth so you can't see it.

Oh okay thanks, I'll look into having it redone before it darkens too much. :)
