Well I can't seem to find any other evidence on this, and it does provide links of translations and other articles on what the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad really said concerning Israel - so as usual it appears that the concensus or conventional opinion is wrong/fabricated in order to lead people to a certain conclusion. Of course as usual, aided and abetted by the media who support the political concensus handed down to them by the GOP/Democratic Party or as in the UK, the Lib/Lab/Con.
I am now questioning whether Iran really is a 'regime' to the extent that the western world keeps calling it by claiming the Iranian elections were rigged as who am I to believe now? infact given the records of the western world and the U.S. in foreign policy (CIA plans to blow up U.S. cities and blame it on Castro, attempts to kill Castro by the CIA, Gulf of Tonkin incident which lead to the Vietnam war & the WMD-Iraq claim which also turned out to be false) I actually have no more reason to believe the U.S. government and western governments than President Ahmadinejad concerning the Iranian elections.
I've found that usually all it takes it a little bit of reading around and watching a few videos to find the real truths behind many issues in the world today; "If tyranny and oppression come to this land , it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." - James Madison
The modern foreign policy of the west is a mess, often built upon lies.
Thoughts?

Absolutely however the phrase used is almost exactly the same in context, if the video is to believed, and I feel this thread is a little desperate in trying to prove a point and lacking in any substantial evidence at all.

I think that the islamic middle eastern countries have made it very clear, multiple times, what they would doto Israel given the opportunity anyway.
A large proportion of muslims in the middle east hate people of any religion other than their own (particularly jews and christians). Every day christians in Afganistan are murdered purely for their religion, there was something on BBC world news about this earlier actualy.

What Ahmadinejad exactly said and what the news said he did are two totally differing things, the actual translation he is quoting in - yet our media and our politicians felt the need to somehow turn that into 'Iran on the verge of attacking Israel, Ahmadinejad threatens to wipe Israel off the map' - no he did not.
Now I don't agree with him that a one-state solution under Palestinian rule is the right way, I think that would be impossible to do - a two state solution is obviously the right way to go about it, however on the other hand it is none of the west's business and our involvement is one of the reasons why some people feel the need to attack us. Remember, they don't attack us because we are 'free' - they attack us because we uphold unwanted puppet governments, invade countries based on lies and have military bases on their soil while airbombing them.

So where does Israel stand in all of this? a country which has its agency Mossad abduct people from across the globe, a country which has a proven nuclear weapons programme and a country which was wrongly founded in the first place. Are they despots/madmen aswell?
This is where I don't know what to believe, maybe Ahmadinejad was elected fairly in last election and is democratically elected - the only people saying otherwise are our politicians, the same politicians who are upholding an unelected and corrupt government in Afghanistan.
Who to believe?

You both mean like in the same way Israeli politicians have threatened Iran and Ahmadinejad himself? strange isn't it, the way Israel only gets good coverage on the news/the media and yet when Iran dare say something that doesnt follow the line of the western world they [the media] feel the need to a) twist it from what he originally said & b) not report on what Israel gets upto.
I have proven something Rosie as I proved in the terrorist thread which you didn't reply to; that it is foolish to trust our politicians.

I support neither Israel nor Iran, regimes based on religion will always fail.

To add to that i completely agree with your point on the way the media works, bias has corrupted the truth and it is impossible to get the real picture any more.

I really think you need perhaps to get out a bit more. It's just the way of the world - they are all at it in one way or another and it will never change.

The fact is everybody in the world is scared to say anything bad about Israel and the Jews because of the holocaust and how they're the most badly done to people and religion of modern history - that's wrong.
Israel openly carry out systematic genocide against Palestinian people every single day, everyday they terrorize Palestinian people and everyday they are becoming more and more powerful because of the idiotic United States.
The US sends Israel 6 billion USD a year, which is thrown right into the Israeli military - which kills defenceless Palestinian civilians.
It's America and Israel who need wiping of the face of the earth, not Iran.

Have you any evidence of genocide because that is a huge claim. I have great sympathy with the Palestinians over the land issue but they are just as guilty of terrorist attacks. As far as Iran is concerned this is just a debate about the wording. It actually comes down to the same thing and now Iran has banned the BBC from going there and criticised the UK for the student riots when they abused, maimed and killed one person during the opposition marches earlier in the year.

The difference between us both though and a lot of people, is that I do get out more - I look into things and I will not blindly believe my government when it tells me things, such as Iraq having WMD and links to the Taliban. I mean I could go on and on but there you have it. Any thinking person would not believe a word a western government tells the public in this day and age.
Just because you don't like the truth does not mean you should dismiss it. Wake up.

Indeed, terrorism - of the same kind that the IRA used against this very country and which John Major and your Labour hero Tony Blair pardoned and then allowed the political wing of the IRA into the Northern Irish government despite not being voted in, essentially allowing terrorists to run NI government unelected. So i'm sorry, but to wring your hands and pretend to be concerned in the slightest about terrorism/ethics is rather hypocritical.
And as for the BBC, can you blame Iran considering how biased the BBC is? It took Tony Benn to set them [the BBC] straight on the Palestine issue; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxCN7YiliQw - BBC bias extends among other thing, of which i've covered time and time again.
The fact is that this video exposes yet more lies from our government, so why do a considerable number of people on here keep voting these crooks in?
