Sorry if I offend someone but can someone tell me the point in buying Hollister clothing. I can get the same stuff at Primark for £20-30 less. It's always full and there is a line outside the Belfast store. There is no individuality with them, they all wear the same things.

I agree, my mum bought me a hollister shirt for christmas and I asked how much it was and it was £40, I went shopping the other day and bought ridiculous amounts of clothes and only spent £60 lol. I think it's an utter waste of money. Still, I do like my hollister shirt.

I like Hollister clothing - really good quality stuff.
Same, I was in Victoria Square a few days back and there is always a line but surprisingly there wasn't on Christmas Eve.

It's plain clothing with Hollister on it. You can get the stuff in Topman, River Island, New Look and save yourself loads of money.

They do have some nice stuff, but I can't afford to shop in there TBH. I do own a couple of pieces I got for my birthday or christmas presents, and they are very comfortable, but usually I just wear primark. I know what you mean about everyone looking likes clones - I don't see how that's good really, individuality is a good thing!!!
But it does smell nice inside the shop. And it looks nice, even if it is fit for a vampire. XD

It's a name that people know and recognise, and yeah people do buy it for the brand, like people buy Jack Wills because thats what it is. I think buying things there is fine and I went today but it's when people overload it and wear Jack Wills, Hollister and A&F together like why?

They are better quality in terms of thread and manufacture but not really enough to warrant their prices, especially considering it's aimed at teens who are going to change their favoured outfits far more than adults who might actually need something more durable
Old Man Tom time: I also don't get how anyone can see what they're buying in Hollister stores, it's darker than half the clubs I go to and what lighting they do have isn't enough to adequately show what a garment is like ;|;|;|;|

Anyone who needs a brand name to make them look good has self-esteem issues. I am happy enough walking around in primark t-shirts.

LOL tom earlier today i was looking near the front and this woman was talking to this 'model' who welcomed people as they came in and she was like listing all the problems in the sohp like the temprature, the darkness, the dust and she kept going on. But apparently they can't change anything in the shop at all
@paul - well thats just you but I like feeling good when I wear clothes and if that means wearing something thats branded then so be it. I do wear other clothes like primark, H&M etc but I think a few hollister and 'designer' clothes are fine. As Tom said the quality and feel of Hollister clothes are very good and people wouldnt buy them if they werent happy with what they are buying
lol, im not sure what i think of it tbh, the clothes are nice i must admit.
Though where i live i dont see anyone wearing it at all yet you go to certain places which has one of the shops and thats all you see people wearing.

just for brand recognition, same reason why people wear abercrombie, ralph lauren etc

Haha the greeters there are so OTT because there's such competition for their jobs, even when I eventually found my way out of the caves shop the guy at the door was like THANKS FOR VISITING HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS MANN I'm like get out the way you're not my friend

I hate the false American **** like that. My cousin is 11 and is into the whole 'Hollister' thing now and the other day had like £200 Christmas money and came out with about 6 things with barely any change. I could understand it a little more if it was more of an exclusive store but when you literally see more people wearing Hollister than Primark it does make me think what the hell are we being brain washed into :P.
I personally wear brands because I like the stuff they sell; I wouldn't buy a Fred Perry polo if it was ugly.
Some of the stuff they sell are nice so I don't mind them.

I've never bought anything from Hollister and have never really thought about buying anything from there.
Some of the stuff is nice but I only really go in there cause it smells so good :P I hate how dark it is though. I went with my friend once because she wanted to get her boyfriend a top and when she got out it was like dark green and she thought it was blue.

I love the Hollister shops (and workers ;)), and the perfume they have - it's £40 a bottle though for what is essentially smelly water. But clothes-wise? i'm not really much of a fan and i've never bought anything from there myself. I mean a few things are alright, but they dont merit the price.

I think it's the brand and to be honest it's different mentally for some. I feel so much better and happier wearing a Lyle and Scott or Lacoste polo than a plain one. If you think i've got mental issues then you obviously don't understand! No position to comment on what people spend their money on anyway. Feeling for the win!

I bought three pairs of jeans and three tops for £50 in Primark.. I'd much rather that than a Hollister shirt!:L

ugghhh its so dark and you cant move. i went in and qued last week for a body warmer, and there was only bright pink or bright blue left, and they were like £60 ;\ but apparently you can just get the same from dunnes for like £8. i hate when they say 'welcome to the port' aswell, its a shopping centre not a flipping port.

Amen to thread starter, it's so pointless and they recently made one in Brighton, it really ***** me off the little ***** who come out of that shop.

I'd never even heard of the store until one came to the Birmingham Bullring, I've been in the store once and was pleasantly surprised with the prices and the quality but it stressed me out because it was massively busy because it was the day after boxing day but I reckon I will probably buy something from there if I like something.
I don't care if there's brand names or anything on my clothes, I'll buy something if I like it and the quality is reflected in the quality
