Is there an official WLM app for Android? I'm not on 3 but on the 3 website they state that WLM comes free with most of their Android phones.

If not, what is the best application to use for Windows Live Messenger?

There's no official app. Ebuddy is the most polished, and Meebo is quite good too.

3 must be false advertising then. I might complain actually - poor customers of 3. I just thought that if they advertised WLM on their devices, then there must be an apk in the wild...

I know about eBuddy and Meebo but 3 state they actually have a real Windows Live Messenger. http://threestore.three.co.uk/priceplans.aspx?phonecode=HTWFIR3DSL

This is an example. I'm not on 3 nor do I have the phone but look what they state.

The HTC Wildfire comes with free Skype™-to-Skype calls and Windows Live™ Messenger, only on Three.

I'll take a look, thanks. :)

It doesn't say anything about an official app? :')
Using ebuddy you're still using Windows Live Messenger - as a service :P

Actually it does:

The HTC Wildfire comes with free Skype™-to-Skype calls and Windows Live™ Messenger, only on Three.

That to me (If I didn't know about Android and what applications there is) that I'm able to use an official Windows Live Messenger application for free when I buy that phone.

The image they also use, with the logo makes me think that I can get the real WLM.

Anyone on 3 that has an Android device with WLM?

TECHNICALLY, you can get WLM for free, using an official service. Web Messenger. It doesn't say they have an official app, they just don't say it doesn't - which IS misleadnig, but not false advertising.

Personally I dislike MSN droid, sometimes it wouldn't send the messages so that was annoying. Meebo is quite good imo.

Just to clear things up, I found an APK for the 3UK Windows Live Messenger app.

I put a spare 3 pay as you go sim card into my HTC Desire HD. Installed the app and made a new APN with the Three details.

Boom, it worked.

I tried it on my main T-Mobile sim though, it said I was roaming.

So, apparently the real official app is only exclusive to 3.
