Habbo are removing gay, bi and les rooms from habbo - I don't know full details. It is basically against bi, gay and les habbos and it is a massive problem to gay, bi and les people who want to just sit back and chill to those the same sexuality to them.

The whole "Dating Rooms" floor should just be scrapped; people are in there swapping MSNs and asking for web cam. This has all been taken way out of proportion and the reason they're closing these rooms is because they break the Habbo way. It's probably happening to the majority of Dating Rooms, yet people are only noticing it happening to the Gay / Bi / Lez rooms because they want to accuse Habbo of being homophobic.. :rolleyes:

However, maybe it was just the moderators on that shift doing it and the actual moderation team itself isn't like that, just try all the mods tbh and we can get to the bottom of which moderator is actually doing this OR find that it is a rumour.

In the last 5 hours, there has been a huge protest because the Mod ****y said the R word. People have dressed as black habbo's with reggie hat. They have formed a religious sign and have even closed the pool down. They moved from room to room protesting. As of right now, there are 50 people protesting! This is said to be as big, if not bigger, then the protest in 2005.

The fact is they are grown people, in charge of a huge website with many users, and your going to talk like that? That's unacceptable. They need to hire mature people. If I may just interject with a few facts....

1. Habbo does NOT close rooms simply for being called bi/lez/gay chat. Rooms are only renamed and closed if what is going on in those rooms is inappropriate and in those cases it doesn't matter whether the room is named 'bi/gay/lez chat' or 'I like fluffy bunny rabbits'

2. Habbo doesn't ban avatars for being black. A bit of common sense employed on that one would tell you that if Habbo were racist....then why would it bother having any skin colour options other than white for avatars? This is a truly laughable rumour that crops up every now and again and is perpetuated by the people raiding, aided and abetted by people who are gullible enough to fall for it. Habbo bans the 4chan/anonymous raiders who kick up in places like the Lido because they create accounts specifically to disrupt by spamming abuse and forming swastikas etc. Now if you happen to rock up to one of those raids and decide it may be a laugh to dress exactly like them and mimic them by also spamming abuse, blocking etc then there's a high likelihood that you'll also be banned and if you do, then I'm afraid to say that it'll be your own fault and you'll only have succeeded in giving the 4chan/anonymous people a good laugh about what a noob you were. After all, the raiders don't give a damn if their newly created, furni-free accounts are banned.....but you care if yours is.

3. Moderators should never call anyone a r****d, but all I'm seeing on the thread so far is claims regarding a moderator name which doesn't actually exist as a staff account. If someone would like me to PM the moderator name that is claimed to have said 'r****ds' I'm more than happy to investigate and take action IF it is actually true.

4. Protests are good when they are for something worthwhile that impacts negatively on society. Protests on a game based on groundless rumours are a complete waste of everyone's time and energy and look a little bit silly.

There's a big difference between dating/flirting and extremely explicit sexual talk or cam/phone sex sessions. Habbo is mostly the 13-17 age range and obviously at that age range many of you date. I expect many of your parents allow you to date but wouldn't be too happy if you sat in the living room having phone sex whilst they were trying to watch Corrie. Would you then say that your parents allowing you to date was 'entrapment'?

It's simply about behaving appropriately in public. A virtual chat room is no different to being in a cafe or other real life room with a group of people. Would you sit and describe having sex in a graphic way in the middle of Starbucks with your girlfriend? If the answer is 'no', then why would someone think it's any more appropriate to do in a public chat area?

Is there some way you can filter 'beds' from room names? As it really is inappropriate to be honest. I've seen strip clubs pop up in the early hours, and they aren't even shut down yet a blocker is kicked from another room. This really needs stamping down on, as by the looks of it Habbo are branding it as acceptable by not taking action and doing a crack down.

I agree with what you've said, i joined in 2005 and back then for the 2 years i played thats all it was, it was just a place for people our age to have fun and perhaps edate.
I went on it last night, first time in an absolute age, and i was really surprised at the volume of 'dating' and 'gay/bi/lesbian' rooms there were, i dont remember having even like 1% as many rooms as when i used to play. So, i thought id check a few rooms out, basically everyone in these rooms were talking graphically about sex and other acts, and the number of people who spam asking for webcams is crazy, i reported a few people and just got told to mute them if i don't like what they're saying. :S
I was on with a couple of friends, so we thought it'd be interesting to see how differently treated girls are to boys, so a couple of us changed our characters to girls, went to a new room and just sat in it. The group of us who were girls all got like 15 friend requests in like 10 mins, then all of them private chat/messaged us asking if we had msn or skype and webcam, and be willing 'to get our kit off' It's really scary.
Basically what I'm trying to say is, habbo is clearly alot more populated with perverts and pedophiles than it used to be, obviously it was going to be with how much popular its become, but what are you doing to combat them? Because i would say having rooms like these is not helping at all, and just telling people to mute the spammers isnt really enough?

I'm guessing Habbo is just an attraction for those who are teenagers, it's a game as well besides the dating.. They might just like playing and dating. I wouldn't know what these other dating sites were but I'm guessing they aren't game orientated like Habbo, therefore not as fun?

It's also going to be a big attraction for peadophiles as they can easily trick girls into thinking they're someone there not. Sick wierdos.

Yeah I agree with that, but that's just our opinion and not the opinion of those who probably only use Habbo for those sort of activities.. I think it's seen as the cool thing to do on Habbo if you're a young teen.

I cant come on , Im on ipod :O but i guessing it would look big. I see the point of them removing the bi, lesbain and gay because a whole lot of "bullys" would go in the rooms and bully them and im guessing that why they made the "it will get better" Badge and group. Also another lot of people would report people for being "sexual" but its not going to stop the "straight" people from doing that. Im guessing its just the thought of it and then people will repot on chf and mods have to deal with all the crap that they report. Well what's funny is users are complaining about getting banned over silly things, like a joke between two users when there's nobody else even in the room, but then there's these 20 striping rooms where young boys are asking girls for cam and are sexually roleplaying. Does the mod team close all these rooms? No, for whatever reason they close a portion of them which to the users looks like a bias and then to make manners worse one of the moderators uses a word that in some places (like Canada and the United States) doesn't mean anything but in other places is considered extremely harsh.

It's a combination of embarrassing incapability and bad luck on the moderators :P

In this case, Habbo should have moderators for each category. At least one, in my opinion.
Have another few who actually deal with the help button and that but with the category moderators, they have a list of rooms..

And a log of each chat that is currently happening. They should then target these rooms and issue a room warning,
maybe a ban or two explaining that it's against the Habbo Way and lock the room. Hopefully this could potentially get the
idea across Habbo.

But like I said, it's just an idea :)

Edit: With a lot of the name changing, why don't they just change it to something like 'Chat Room' or something related to that.
People don't realise what it's doing and I think Habbo should do MORE to actually stop it. I know Melbourne always hold 'Gay Rights Rallys' but in Habbo,
it's just role-playing a lot and people just want to meet others that are the same as them. Habbo needs to have an official room, like a help desk and be able
to help other users out. Sometimes having the old habbo user mods was good but sometimes some moderators are just useless at times.

I'll definitely be posting more of my opinions and ideas in this thread later :)
