Reputation bars.

I've noticed that there's only 6 light green rep bars and that at 1500 rep you have those bars maxed out. Is it possible for there to be more bars added?

It looks like there's room for there to be a lot of room for extra bars, and there seems to be a lot of people who have much more than 1500 rep points and i think it would be nice for them to have something to show for it. Maybe even make it be for every 300 rep points once you pass the 1500 mark?

Personally i dont think this would work out especially for someone with such a high rep points;

Neversoft as an example (who has over 13k rep points) Would have 5 Dark green blocks, with approximately 38 light green blocks.

I think this is one reason why the reputation ranks were changed a while ago. To become a forum legend now you need over 5000 reputation points, something which only a handful of people now have. A few years ago this was (I think) 2000 reputation points which a lot of people have got and can quite easily achieve. But as Aiden has pointed out, someone like Neversoft or --ss-- will have a lot of light green rep blocks which will take up a lot of room and will looks quite ugly.

It's fine how it is, you can't have it ever increasing and I think it stops around the right mark, it's sort of an accomplishment in itself. As Alkaz has also pointed out the Reputation Ranks themselves were changed radically recently and the highest level now is 5000 which only a handful of people have achieved :)

See what Nicola says though, she may have different ideas to us :)

If it was to be increased, I don't think it should go above 2-4 more because as said already, some people would have a bit too many in the post bit :P.

I didn't mean ever increasing. What i was saying was that there seems to be room for at least a couple more bars, maybe make these bars harder to get. Also it doesn't seem to take that long to max out the bars.

I think it might be nice to add a few more blocks, maybe even a different colour? (Might mess it up though) but if more blocks were to be added the amount of rep needed for the next lot of blocks should be changed so again it becomes harder to gain these blocks? Nice idea though

Maybe you could have:
5 dark green (currently 5) - every 100 rep (currently 100)
5 light green (currently 6) - every 250 rep (currently 200)
5 other colour - every 500

Something like that could maybe work :D?

I only changed the 200 to 250 because people say it may be too easy to achieve them. Lets see what management think though :D.

No :( I don't think people would like to feel like they're losing something from this really, I know I wouldn't seen as I've only just got this full set! :P

Much more are likely to go onto a second line for users with smaller screen resolutions.

I dont think that is as small as it has be, I know we have quite a few issues with users with smaller resolutions from some recent PMs, even with fixed layout - I'll look over the options for this but I think Nicola is correct about increasing the limits being a better option as they are quite low really.

I like this, i'm sure if people with small resolutions have problems with this they would already have bigger problems with the current skins, as really there is a ton of space for the bars currently.

The rep blocks are standard vBulletin stuff and I'm not entirely sure if they can be edited and it would take quite a bit of work for this to happen and that's even if it's possible. It's not a thread we've forgotten about it's just something that can't be implemented instantly - or even investigated whilst we don't have a techie on board apart from Jin who has been on holiday - this should be changing soon so perhaps it's a possibility for the future.

Keep the dark ones worth 100 so the people on low rep aren't losing many bars, if any at all and make the light ones worth 500 points?

That would mean it took 3500 rep points to max out the bars.

Well what about the whole fiasco about increasing the amount of reputation needed per rep power? These things have got to be done as the forum matures.

Then people suggested adding more bars rather than changing the figures, which I have no issues with as long as it's possible
