I need to find some new music to listen to. However, I'd prefer it to be music that's not in the top 100. I want more obscure things.
Do you have any suggestions for me? I'm particularly into things that are happy in tone, and also from bands that write their own songs.

well what are you looking for exactly? cause if your definition of "obscure" is "not in the top 100" then 99% of music is "obscure." anyway, try this?

Two amazing bands, not really sure what you're looking for exactly but this kind of music never seems to be in the charts.

Infant Sorrow are AMAZING

The soundtrack to Get Him To The Greek is really good, one of my favourite albums from 2010.
Some of the songs are really odd but the best ones are; Going Up, Searching for a father & I am Jesus

Youtube them :)

that is probably the least specific explanation you could possibly give lol. thats like saying "well i like notes, but not a lot of them..."

Here's an idea...

Pick a song you love at the moment, or something you enjoy listening to.

I'll take a listen and maybe find some music that is similar and hopefully you'll enjoy it.

You should try last.fm as well, you can make an account and it basically keeps a record of each song you listen to - you can hopefully meet people who have the same musical likes as you. :)
