My boyfriend is going to England for 6 months. We love watching tv series together. I was thinking we could both get the same tv series (perhaps on dvd rather than tv) and watch episodes at the same time, while we're skyping.

We love Doctor Who (almost finished it for now, we're a bit behind), IT Crowd, Hornblower, Foyles War, Big Bang Theory, and lots more.
Can you suggest a series to us?

Oh, I mean it's a possibility for the long distance thing, might be harder to get dvds for! (and more expensive).
We were addicted to Farscape, only got the movie to go now. Firefly is the next thing but that's only 13 episodes and I need more options!

NO.

NO.

A THOUSAND TIMES.

NO.

The only good thing about Torchwood is 'Children of Earth', a separate series that doesn't require watching the actual series. It's fan-bloody-tastic. Avoid the main series as much as possible, like a horrible flesh eating disease.

lol why? I liked it, though I didn't finish it because the channel here made it impossible.
Oh we can watch Larkrise to Candleford!

I loved Children Of Earth yes it was gripping,

though the original format of 13 episodes felt the best , the good old days with Jack , Gwen , Ianto , Toshiko , Owen.

I only hope New World will be better

So he watches them by seeing them in your webcam from your DVD Player?

TheEclipse

... what, no. Right now, he's here in my city, and we watch on a dvd player at my or his house.
When he goes away, we'll both get copies of the series that we choose.

How oculd you not like Prison break or Lost ;O

But a Monk lover yay ;) it's hard to find people on this forum who enjoys monk as it's aimed at an older audience.

And how can you say torchwood is bad? Yes it's alot more adult but i prefer that as there is a constant fear of main character dieing (which does happen)
I love Dr. Who but you know that none of the main characters will die and therefore i don't get immersed when i should do about the danger.

Prison Break totally went downhill after the first season. As for Lost, the same - it was just nonsense.

Prison break slowly went down hill after the first season but was still a solid watch esspecially the finale.

I just loved lost to much to let it go rofl. I have to admit though the finale series felt rushed.

Prison Break's first season was very good, but then I thought it rapidly declined into ridiculousness. The story was a one-time deal. I appreciate people found Lost hard to let go off, but I know a huge amount of people who really got turned away by it during the second season, myself included, and the ratings do reflect that.

If you're a fan of Farscape, then might I suggest Stargate? If you haven't heard of it, there's three different programmes, one with ten series, one with four and the latest one is just finishing it's second, that's more than enough to keep you going haha.

Well, Rory sort of died.

mm, I've loved Monk for years now. :D I don't care if the characters are older than I am.

I don't like Prison Break because of how long it dragged on. I don't like American shows like that where time moves so slowly. I don't like Lost because I'm not into the sort of drama they had on it, plus it was just plain weird and not in a good way.

Get Netflix or use TVduck. You can watch current or old shows (like from the 90s).
