Question about HC/VIP days and re-newing, etc.

Alright, well I have 19 days left of HC, and I was wondering if I upgraded to VIP NOW, would it reset counter?
Because people told me to wait until last day of HC, then re-new because it'll reset counter and I'll have HC AND VIP for that whole month.
Can someone please explain/elaborate on this please?

It doesn't reset, it will add the days onto your existing amount of days.
