Looking for the best and cheapest place to get insured by.. cheapest i've found so far is Liverpool Victoria which is 3k, this is with fully comp. Every other car insurance place i can think of is over 4k :S Just passed my test.. going to be driving new corsa, 1.2l engine. Also am only 17 so im expecting around 3-4k :/
look at just having 3rd party f+f but that's not always the cheapest.
also have a look at adding some experienced drivers as named drivers, that knocks it down sometimes.
try private places aswell as big commercial places.
keep the car in a garage and it should be cheaper too.

Mines is "only" £1400 a year, clean license, aged 17, car an '03 Clio 1.2 and with a Fife postcode.
I'm on Admiral Multicar though, my mum's 1.8 Zafira and my dad's Seat Ibiza Bocanegra are on the policy also, plus the dad is the registered owner of my car and I'm the registered keeper.
If I were you, I'd try and get on a parent's insurance, or convince your folks to move onto an Admiral Multicar policy.

no it isn't - I think you're getting confused with someone being insured as the "occasional user" of a car but actually uses it more than the main driver. mines allows someone to own the car, officially, but someone else to keep it and use it every day.

Well the idea was, my dad pays 9k for my car and i just pay the insurance. So the car is going to be in my name
