This is a full-time paid position. It is open for Singaporeans and PRs based in Singapore.

Such a shame you can't be underpaid to join the fleet of class F moderators :(

£1,145.80

To be honest, this job requires no real skills or qualifications looking at what they've put. Most of us here who are 18+ could do that job :P.

I had to cut and paste the £ symbol from the internet because my keyboard doesn't have it.

It does require some sort of skill, although they must just let any old fellow take on the job. They could implement a moderationless gaming scheme where you can vote players out of rooms, where you can assign different levels of authority of rights and then have rudimentary "voiced" users with basic extra features and it would be superior to that of the current moderation system. It would save the company money too - not that they're actually willing to fork much over in the interest of their users though within the current moderation system .

I'm sure there's many people in the UK, USA, Canada or Australia etc who wouldn't mind this job, even if the salary wasn't all that - at least they'll do a better job than those in Singapore (no offence to anyone Singaporeans).

They could make it something voluntary again but this time regulate it better - give the moderators perks, treat it like an internship or something.

I hope they recruit some decent moderators this time.

Hmmm, Sulake are actually advertising their staffing opportunities online to people? Judging from the quality of the service, I always assumed they targetted monkey exhibits in zoos :/

Volunteer mods are frowned upon in this type of business, shame it worked better than actual mods.

If they're doing around 32 hours a week (average nowadays), they would be on £7.78 p/h in the UK.. so full-time must be a lot more than 32 hours a week in order for Sulake to choose Singapore mods ^_^

Does anybody know how many hours it is? lol

For them to pay them cheap, I worked out that there's around 5 moderators on at a time, so between them all they would work for 40 hours a week? That would still put them on £6 p/h.. which seams high for Sulake ^_^

If not, then only 4 mods online at 32 hours a week... but that would be £8 p/h.

I don't think they even pay them £6 p/h.. I mean, why else would they hire from Singapore when they could easily pay NMW and get decent mods from the UK?

Grig
06-01-2011, 12:21 PM
They're Singoporeans.. That's why the Moderation isn't great.

Why discriminate against Singaporeans, they too are nice and hard working people. Really no need for it. It's like me saying "they're British, that's why their economy isn't great" etc.

To convert salary to quid, it is 998- 1148 quid per month. Which is decent, considering the fact that qualifications aren't stated, although one may have to assume people would need to have a decent educational background.

Also, for the person who said they applied but aren't from Singapore, it clearly states you MUST be from Singapore, so I do not get your logic behind that.

qaxzsw
06-01-2011, 03:45 PM
There is no minimum wage in Singapore which is the logic for hiring someone from Singapore, because Singapore has a first language as English. If you notice - the people who speak really bad English on the hotel with the 'Singaporean Hotel' badge are normally Malaysian or from the Phillipines because the SG Hotel was SG/MY/PH.

Also, whoever applied from Northern Ireland is kinda stupid.

Oooh I would love to be a MOD but I would just not have the time to.

That earning is about £1,100 in brtish pounds which I would guess it is monthly at least. Not a bad salary for moderating Habbo.

Has anyone else realised the skills you need to be a moderator are about the same skills a monkey in a zoo has?

People are saying the salary is not great. However the job is a basic one which doesn't require any sort of qualifications. Either way, the 2,300SGD is most likely monthly looking at the average salary of Singapore - so technically, it is excellent. You all fail to understand that prices for food etc vary in other countries and are most likely cheaper in others.

Volunteer Mods are frowned upon or something. I remember suggesting it when Kazopark came out with them and Redtiz said they were severely frowned upon or something. It's a shame because it would work well with the 150 reports per hour or something.

Its only natural for a massive company, to go for the cheapest options - they are business at the end of the day and the economy isn't at its best.

Like others have said, the wage isn't bad if you live in Singapore due to price differences. Things are a lot more expensive here and in the US/CA/AU compared to SG. At least they have English speaking Moderators and not some Indians in a call centre.

They were not noobs. Habbo.in was very convincing and even a few Moderators fell for it...

Actually they (Indians in a call centre) also have great English and in many cases, better English than ours, just accent is different. This involves typing so accent makes no difference.

Again, not the Moderator's fault. It was Sulake's fault for not informing the Moderators properly regarding the merge and new fan sites. You are simply making yourself look silly here.
