I'm sorry, but this has to be one of the worst layouts for HxHD. It looks more like a rip of 9y's Starbucks room and there is hardly any room to move about. It's seem's like you've just gone after any old theme and tried to make it work. There is way too much space wasted in the staff area, with it filled with random objects like the coffee machine?! The tables are also annoying and are going to make it hard to move about during busy times.

Thoughts!?!

Agreed that it's not too original as this kind of thing is used at most help desks but then again it's not that bad... i like it for the most part sorry sarah... though on the other hand it does look like a rip of starbucks... mm i can't make my mind so i'll stay neutral :p

It's not my favourite layout that there's been, but it's not that bad :P

It does look more like a coffee shop than a help desk though xD

I wouldn't say its the best HxHD layout, I don't really like the executive being used in there.

I think the layout in terms of space has been done quite well really, recently there have been problems with the staff area being too small as HxHD staff are very active as of late therefore it was compulsory to get a bigger staff area, there's no wasted space in there and the coffee machine is taking up 1 square, it's not taking up much space.

I don't see how it's a rip of another room when it's a furniture design released by Habbo, anybody can buy it it's in the catalogue so that's a bit of a silly accusation, of course the furni will look the same in a number of rooms, it's a range designed to go together.

There's a lot more space in this layout for the public than the last Christmas layout therefore I think the aims we needed to accomplish have been met and the help desk looks quite stylish and is absolutely fine for the next month.

Then again, can't please anybody.

I actually really like it, it reminds me of the old executive HxHD that Sammeth owned I think. I agree that there maybe isn't as much room as there could be, maybe one of the tables could be picked up for more room and the staff area could be made a bit smaller? Anyway I really like the furni used (mmmm executive) and it looks quite pretty imo, I like it :)!

OH AND ALSO I think it looks a bit weird without a wall, I really think one of those nice walls could be added that'd go well with the floor, maybe there could be executive rugs in the staff bit or something to make the floor a bit more different? :P

Staff area is fine imo, these days there's a lot of staff behind the bar at the same time and it gets a bit crowded.

Layout is here for near enough a month (create a countdown if you really hate it) and well I can't be bothered changing the layout again to please others. You can't please everyone and people will always like or hate any HxHD layout and that is a fact. Sorry if not too many people like the current layout but I'm sure you can all get used to it like you have done with any previous layouts the desk has had.

Thanks for the feedback Sarah.

We're quite happy with the layout in terms of what we wanted it to offer. More space basically. The staff area had to be increased slightly due to an increase in numbers, and we felt that the new postition made even the non staff area bigger too. I feel that we've infact gained space based on the previous layout.

We didn't want to go for lodge again, and so opted to go for an executive theme for now. The coffee machine was only a temporary measure since a few people made note of the fact there was no drinks machine...

This layout will only last until the valentines layout and we feel its a nice filler layout to bridge the gap.

I think the new room will allow hxhd events to be hosted efficiently, and there is plenty of seating and stuff for everyone. We needed bigger, and that's what we went for.

I actually don't have a major problem with this one - I think the executive looks quite good! (although nvrspk4's petal patch one was clearly the best!)
I don't know what's going on with the little kink in the bar, and I think it should just be a normal corner, carrying straight on; that way there's more room for visitors and less room for staff, which is the better option, imo.

The two tables could also make it rather crowded as there's only a one space gap around them, but I do really like the theming and overall layout :)

Anyway, It's ok but it's new year, and all. PARTY! In terms of space, yes you've got alot of it, but it does look like a coffee shop.

Work that one out Matt :P If it was a straight bar it would take 1 space away from the public area and give it to the staff area :P

The floor is ugly. I'm not sure of an alternative but surely there must be something better than that black flooring. Space is fine but I think one of the tables should be removed.

Not if you move the staff's sofas back a space, and then have the bar follow straight on rather than randomly kinking out. Noob!!!!!1 ;l;l :P

It's not my favourite layout of HxHD because my favourite had to be the Black + White Mat layout, I thought that was going to be used again and if you are stuck on what to do for the next layout I would love for it to return :P

Mhm I agree with this, We were a bit stuck on what to do with the walls, wanted something a bit different to liven it up a bit and in the end Oli chose some waterfalls. xD

I actually like it, it reminds me of Sammeth.'s room with the executive theme (just read that Sam already put this, fail). It's spaced out well and a lot of room. Not sure on the 2 tables in the middle though.

I'd rate it 50/50. I like some elements of it, but some things don't have the 'warm' and 'cozy' feel to it. But that is because I'm a lover of the classic layouts. Oh, and for people moaning about large staff areas, this is still nothing compared to the olden days, where it must have been two times it. Although, I don't feel it is too cramped either, there is space. However, I think for help desks more colour and that sort of 'cozy' element would do well.

Anyway nice attempt :).

Inseriousity.

I like it but i dont love it, i think there might be some room for improvement such as maybe making it 1 coffee table instead of 2.

other then that i think it will do well as executive has a 'professional' appeal to the helpdesk in my opinion making it slightly more formal.

Not sure about the use of exec furni in the help desk but we may as well give it a shot, people often get used to it.

As far as it being a "rip", from having been in the Help Desk for many years and making many layouts, that layout, almost exactly, has been done by HxHD at least twice, although with different furniture. So if we're accusing them of ripping this starbucks whatever, I accuse starbucks of ripping HxHD.

That room type is one of the most common rooms picked, and in rooms where you have a cordoned off area for staff/servers etc. there are only so many combinations and I can guarantee almost all of them have been used.

As far as the tables, I think they add a nice touch though there is a good point about dance parties. Of course, they could be stacked on top of each other in a corner if people want to dance.

We've spoken about the table issue and we will most likely be removing one/both of the tables when we talk with matt when he comes online. I can see the reasonings for it, mainly to free up space and keep things less cramped. There was quite a big gap which I why I thought it may be best to fill it, however now I can see that this could probably be made more use of as space. Maybe a nice change in flooring over there would look nice? a rug might not work but im not sure about changing the tiles over there. We will look into it for you all. :D

I agree with you on both things, it will probably look a little strange empty but will be too cramped when its not empty. Good on the management team for being responsive though to make the changes that are plausible without overreacting.

I like this layout - it's definitely a change from the previous one, and I don't think it looks that much like 9y's Starbucks! Love the waterfalls, and was definitely improved by the table-pickiking-up, lots more space for visitors.

TBH, at the end of they day, it's only up for a month and it is a virtual room. Not real. JS.

Its Hideous to be honest.

Have some orginality, like the christmas themed room was better and I hated that.

Even the room that 9Y designed [i think it was] with the doormats, that was a hell of a lot better.

The problem that seems to be most pressing is space, so why not make it a bigger room? Even one of those fake small rooms that are made in big rooms that casinos use?

There may be lag in a small room but there isn't a lot we can do apart from using normal furni that does not have animations what so ever, if that's causing the lag. Anyone who did complain is probably in the old feedback thread about the summer layout.

I've found some of the posts that were in the feedback thread disliking the room layout size due to lag or just hating it because of it being a V9 layout. I'm not sure if people still have the same views on HxHD going to a bigger layout but it may be something we can always try again, but we would rather stay in a small room if it's going to be more accessible by all people without the moan about "major lag".

I don't care how the room looks once its not one of those massive ones like it is now, my comp can't handle that. Its stupid, il buy a new comp for habbox.

The room is too big, it just lags out my laptop. I'm not too keen on the layout ether.

thank god lol I went in once yesterday to see what it was like and it lagged me out

I think whoever it was that themed the room in the office sort of look did a good job. I swear if this was several years ago I would have thought it was a pixel alteration because a lot of the items used are newer ones!

I'm not sure what the room looks like that someone mentioned this one's familiar to, nor have I ever been to a Starbucks but if I were to compare the new layout to anything, I would compare it to Sammeth's 2009 Habbox Help Desk:

http://davzy.com/screenshots/Picture_3-20110106-083133.jpg

As it's one of ours I wouldn't say it constitutes as ripping in comparison!

Bit of free advertising for 9y's Starbucks, but goodness knows how it's a "rip" of his room. The only similarity I see is using the same range of furni :S:S It's not even the same sized room! :P
