Just a thought. If we have Elite Pixel art, surley there should be an Elite room thread?

Theres atleast the same amount fo rooms posted as Alts and i think it would be a nice addition for users to see some of the best creations.

And why should we value pixel art above room creation? there both forms of creative outputs.

Thoughts?

I actually really like this idea!

Also i think that once they become an Elite room, the images of the room should be uploaded to Habbox Servers and hosted that way. So then we don't loose the images of the rooms. Alot of people always post 'has anyone got an image of this room as i really need it' normally because the image has become broken as it's hosted on a free site.

I think this is a really good idea. I agree with Dan as well, I get people asking me if they remember who owned a room and people posting threads for working images of rooms quite often.

The only problem is how and who will judge them? I think it should be based on the response of the room really and maybe Martin could move rooms to the 'Elite Rooms' forum (if created and the idea goes ahead) as they're community related really :P.

I really like this idea and believe it could work.

However if it has to be posted in the Cool rooms thread first and then if someone feels its an elite and it gets moved up, my only concern is if a member/members have put all their heart and soul into that room and it doesnt get moved to an elite they may be disappointed (yes i know its only pixels but it was just on my mind incase someone genuinly did feel let down).

other then that i like it, it has great potential +rep

A superb idea.

This would be a really good add on to Habbox, and I hope it is implemented :)

Perhaps Martin would say in his edit. 'Added for fantastic designing skills.' or 'Added for originality and creation of games.'

This is the same with Graphic alterations, people always try there best and a forum i believe we appreiciate that.

Judging i believe should be down to the forums reaction. If the room(s) (i'm guessing can be submitted as a set similar to alterations) get universal praise from the forum. A moderator can move this thread into the elite section.

I have always been on at the Forum Department to get some sort of forum specific competitions going, remember when Sarah did one a while back and it was quite successful? I think this is quite a possible alternative.

We tend to have Habbo specialists moderating the Habbo forums so they could decide upon the elite rooms with Forum Management and we can get it moved into a special Forum.

Let's see what Nicola says :)

Maybe if your room got moved to the 'elites' then you would be awarded with a 'Elite Room Designer' award?

Yeah, this.

I like the idea of elite rooms and it will probably encourage room building and posting. Hopefully it will be introduced :)

I think that the graphics lite should have some sort of this as well.
Of course you wouldn't go through all the elites that are already there but you could begin again - however, critising my point not a lot of work is moved to elites now.

However, I do think this is a good idea.

Agreed about originality too, also I think something that defys the laws of habbo too should be good (i.e stacking etc)

Anyway, I have probably waffled on but yeah this is a good idea. :).

I'd prefer (and I'm in no way being biased here) that every fortnight, the most elite room as chosen by readers can get reviewed by the news department. So that then there are more incentives. Then again, some will argue that they've seen it and it won't be any new find.

@ Oli: Instead of the moderator specialists deciding, I'd recommend getting the community involved by allowing them to vote on which rooms they think are 'elite' every month or so and then they can be moved to that section. Just an idea.

If I remember rightly the graphics got moved to elites due to public opinion to so yes I think that should be the case, if it seems that a large majority like it the moderator can request to move it to Elites, more than 1 mod would have to agree etc to stop it being done in excess.

Whoever mentioned awards, this is also a good idea and I think if we do this it'd be quite nice to tie it in with our Elite Graphics review which is going to be taking place over the next week or so.

Ya i stated in my second post that i wish it to be voted by the community to.

And obviously retro rooms would be strictly against the rules ;)

Sorry about the double post, but did anything get decided on this?

I think this is a great idea and is hopefully something that can be introduced this weekend. I also really like the idea of having an award for both the Elites Rooms and Elites Graphics.

As Lost_Addict also said, retro rooms will be completely out of the question.
